“I had the grilled chicken salad and it was fantastic. It was not huge. It’s a bit on the smaller side but the amount of chicken was the same as you would receive if you went to a place with a huge salad. The ranch dressing, his fantastic. Neither one of us needed to add Salter pepper to anything. Everything was already seasoned Well. The salad I believe was $7.50 and the country fried steak with three sides and a choice of bread and tea was only $10.25 a little cheaper than that if you choose water instead of tea. Next time I’m going to try the battered onion rings I forgot to order them in the beginning for An appetizer, so I will try them next time I’m traveling through that area. I also had an order of fries and they were fantastic there my favorite kind, extra crispy, and a little seasoned, and have that kind of battered crunchiness to them. They are similar to the red elephants Fries in Dothan , AL. This is a nice little cozy country cooking place that Is very well priced. The portions are Not huge I usually end up with it take home box, but I didn’t here and that is fine. If someone were to need a larger Quantity of food it would be really easy to add some delicious sides and make it a larger meal. Oh, and next time I’m going to try the country fried steak because they actually serve Green beans here that are not from a can! Also, I was told at the country fried steak was delicious and the fried okra was the best awesome, and very goodKid-friendliness: There is a nice little kids menu and a huge alligator statue in the front by the hostess station. I’m sure kids enjoy that.“
“It's a good restaurant at a semi-fair cost. The food was good with a few exceptions.Portions were very good. The waitress was attentive.Clean establishment including restroom.Mash Potatoes were FAKE, which is strange considering the lime beans seemed to be well prepared and generously seasoned with bacon and probably fresh or frozen.Fred Green Tomatoes on the other hand were not very good, probably pre-made frozen. The tomatoes not the batter did not taste well. Add to that the portion price was about $1 a slice... a real rip-off, even though they were homemade, which they were not.Meal options averages are a meat option with 2 sides with cost EXCLUDING DRINKS from about $13 to $19.Build your own Burger looks good at about $9Baskets average around $10 to $12.Platters $10 to $16Kids Meals *12and under, a ~$5 but Drink would make this closer to $8...Coke and Tea is $2.75Pork Chops were exceptional. Chicken Fried Steak was fair but not up to Cracker Barrel. The sides we chose were Lima Beans (great) and a baked potato (also good and large-sized).Desert was an exceptional Cheese Cake!Kid-friendliness: Good Price EXCEPT FOR DRINKS!“
“Waffle House is a new Christmas dinner tradition we started & so glad we went to this one. Our waitress ( wish I had her name ) was absolutely wonderful from the moment we walked in. She accommodated us with two booths next to each other because there were 6 of us. She was an absolutely delight. One order came out later than others plates, and one of the cooks doubled up on the hashbrowns as an apology. They all had gloves on as well, which does not happen at another one in town. We will be going here from now on.“
“I've driven down Main Street for years and didn't know Desi's was there till today when a group of people came out at once while I drove by. Desi's closes after lunch and open for dinner on Fridays only. I didn't want to cook dinner after an hour drive home, so I at dinner at Desi's. The crowd I could tell were all locals, friendly calling out each other by name. Line up and get your plates served with the country style meats and vegetables. Fish Friday, there was breaded fried mullet and catfish. Not a fried fish eater, so I enjoyed double servings of the ribs, and shrimp pasta (not those mini shrimp, but the good size ones you can sink your teeth into. Selection of vegetables can satisfy the pickiest eater. The desert bar was too tempting, so I did enjoy the apple crisps. Enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and saw the American flag proudly displayed. Next to it is the Israeli flag. Thank you, that meant much to me.Not too far North of 1-10 for those traveling and want a break from the chain restaurants. This is Southern cooking.Kid-friendliness: Local families with well-behaved kids . There is the self-serve desert bar the kids sure enjoyed. Banana and bread puddings, Peach cooler and I'll mention the Apple crisps again“
“The Shrimp Po-boy is good but hold the bottom of it so your shrimp and the rest of it doesn't fall out. The onion rings are also great. She has the Square app so you can pay with debit card if you want, too.Parking: You'll have to park on the street. And it's in line parking so good luck.“
“Simple and great. You better get here before 10:30. One of our favorite places. We love this place. Our favorite pass time is to watching people get turned away after 11:00 a.m. -come early.Best tradition southern breakfast within miles. Absolutely FAB. We drive 40 mon to get here and it's worthy it.“
“Stopped there two days in a row. My wife is a former employee and was impressed by the servers and by the management staff being out and about on the floor. The food and service were excellent and the checkout cashiers were pleasant and very efficient. Servers Barb and Natalia were over and above your normal wait staff and provided the crowning touch to a very good experience at your restaurant.“
“The shift kept this place so spotless!! When I walked in I was greeted with inviting smiles ! Caleb was my waiter and was fast an accurate. Scott was the side show to those super shiny grills and cooked my food extremely fast and yummy. ? Suzy was in my blindside cleaning windows and just over kind. I love my experience in waffle and will make this my primary stop!! Give them a raise NOW!! Thanks Jess ❤️❤️“
“This is a GREAT Waffle House on the N side. The crew is friendly and informative. Their steak and eggs, disappeared on the menu ,during the Pandemic. The cook informed me they just aren't on the menu. We have them, would you care for that? He was already making my breakfast sandwich, so I declined his offer. It was very much appreciated.“
“Guy at the counter said I wouldn't be able to tell they didn't use a press on the cuban... I definitely could tell- however, the bread was toasted, and the flavor profile of the pork, ham, and whatever pickles they use is COMPLETELY AMAZING! Definitely recommend and will be going back to try more of their extensive sandwich menu!“
