“My husband and I went here for our anniversary and it was a great choice. We were treated very well with a decorated table, a free dessert, and a nice card from the restaurant.

The appetizers were the star of the show! We got the crab cake, beef tartar, and we each got the lobster bisque. These were our favorite items of our entire vacation!! Very fresh and delightful. We also got the sea bass and scallops which were also quite delicious- although I will say the sweet potato puree was a touch too sweet for my liking with rich scallops. Nonetheless, very tasty. Great cocktails as well and fantastic service!“

“These guys are THE BEST. Not only is the food just as amazing as it’s always been (I’ve been a semi-regular for nearly 25 years), but the staff and management are top notch. Recently my best friend passed and his brother knew he loved Catfish Dewey’s, so he wanted to have a dinner there with local friends, neighbors, and colleagues. I went in and spoke to Joe, the manager. He assured they’d make it happen and they did so, flawlessly and with great attention to detail. They managed a party of nearly 48 people in addition to their regular clientele, even bringing in extra staff to help with the event. These folks went out of their way to make sure this special event went flawlessly and it did. The waitresses, whose names I cannot remember (I told you I wouldn’t…sorry! Ha!) were amazing. “During our stay at the Ritz Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, we had dinner at the Burlock Coast Restaurant located within the hotel. The food and service were spot on. There is both indoor and outdoor dining. We enjoyed some cocktails and shared a few appetizers, including the shrimp cocktail. After that, we took a lovely walk along the beach, which is right across from the restaurant.“

The steak was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and every bite on the plate was bursting with flavor. The ambiance was elegant yet relaxed, with soft lighting and a serene private dining space. Our server, Matthew, truly elevated the evening. He was highly experienced, knowledgeable, professional, and gracious—standing out well above the rest of the team. We’ve dined here before with other servers, and none compare. Matthew offered just the right amount of banter, with excellent social awareness and a natural sense of when to engage and when to step back. If you dine here, request him—your experience will be noticeably elevated.
The craft cocktails were excellent, with a wide variety and very reasonable pricing for a Fort Lauderdale oceanfront location. The salad was outstanding, and dinner overall was very solid and well executed.

“We had a reservation on Saturday at 8:30pm and didn’t end up getting seated until around 9:15. The bar was packed, but we were able to order drinks while we waited. Once we got to our table, it took about 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive, and then another server came by with the same appetizers, clearly confused about the table. About 10 minutes later, yet another server brought oysters we hadn’t ordered. Our main dishes arrived an hour later, the steaks weren’t cooked to temperature, and we were missing side dishes. By the end of the meal, we mentioned everything to the floor manager and our server when they asked how our evening was going.

The food itself was good, and they did comp the steaks since things had gone so poorly.

The next day (Sunday), Jason—who I assume is the head manager—called to ask about our experience. I shared the issues we had, but also emphasized that the food was still great. I mentioned that I was visiting from out of town, and he generously offered to treat us to a new dinner so we could experience the restaurant at its best.

And wow—what a difference. Everything from the bread service and cocktails to the appetizers (French onion soup and sushi), main dishes (salmon, sea bass, and wagyu filet), sides (mashed potatoes, miso broccoli, and asparagus), and dessert (butter cake) was absolute perfection. Our waitress and the entire staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Jason took the time to come meet us at the table. Introduced himself and even apologized in person. It was truly a great gesture.
It was clear that Saturday was just an off night, because the following day completely changed our impression. I would definitely go back—the second experience truly didn’t disappoint.“

The food was amazing (we ordered the salmon and sea bass entrees), the ambiance was great both inside and outside on the patio, but most importantly the service was fantastic! Their fried seafood is delicious and perfectly fried, with just the right amount of seasoning. The flop is not too sweet and adds the perfect touch. The staff is also very welcoming and friendly.“
