“Come for the oysters stay for the swordfish BLT. We had a dozen East Coast oysters and four West Coast, absolutely outstanding. Additionally they have a bottomless Mimosa, and the swordfish BLT was large enough for my husband and I to share, knowing we were going to order the homemade donuts for dessert. This place is a must visit. Everything was so delicious!!!!“

“We recently dined at Ella Mai’s Diner in downtown Fort Myers inside the Luminary Hotel and had a mostly positive experience. I ordered the grilled cheese with tater tots—the sandwich had great flavor, but the generous amount of cheese made it a bit soggy. The tater tots, however, were crispy and delicious.

My friend went with the BLT and a side of broccoli, and she absolutely loved it, calling the sandwich one of the best she’s had. The broccoli was fresh and crisp, which was a nice touch.

The atmosphere was cozy, and our server was friendly, but the hostess felt a bit cold and unwelcoming, which didn’t make for the best first impression. That said, the prices were reasonable, especially considering the restaurant is inside the Luminary Hotel, a stunning location with beautiful views of the Caloosahatchee River.

Despite the minor issues, I’d definitely return to try more from the menu!“

“Went to this little gem twice in two days. After having the most delicious pumpkin ravioli and side salad. Other diners enjoyed soups, salads, mahi tacos, truffle fries and Mediterranean wrap. Everyone encountered here was friendly and helpful with guiding us with our orders. They have a decent beer and wine selection for a small place (if that’s a priority) to accompany your meal. We will definitely put this on our must visit list each trip to the Ft Myers area.“

“I have tried many Ft. Myers Pizza Shops and have not found one that makes a pizza close to New York Style Pizza. Today I was in the McGeegor Pizza & Deli area and thought I would try it. Surprisingly the pizza was amazing, the crust was well done, the sauce was tasty and the mozzarella was enough to make the pizza tasty and delicious. “Visited from southern Delaware over Thanksgiving. Wasn't sure where to eat Thanksgiving dinner, so Googled and Mel's Diner was serving it. Called to make a reservation, but they were booked. Was told they were accepting walk-ins, call on our way and they'd put us on the list. Was able to get seated right away, party of 2! I had the turkey dinner and my beau had ham dinner... delicious, just like home. Our server (Cody?) was lovely and the owner took the time to check on us. It's no wonder Mel's has great reviews. The staff: Every person I've met from the cashier, the waitress, even the people cleaning the tables, have been absolutely wonderful, so kind, welcoming and accommodating! Customer service wise I'd say they are the Chick Fil A of restaurants. I honestly can not think of another restaurant where I have enjoyed the atmosphere this much. The Food: Makes me feel like I'm at home! I have been in Florida since October for work, and when I start missing home, their food hits the spot! Evelyn was always attentive and friendly to all of the tables located both in the inside bar and outside seating area. Their authentic gumbo and creole jambalaya will warm your heart. If you happen to want an even warmer heart, you can up the heat with the ghost pepper version. You will encounter some great cooks and some attentive servers who will make your visits habit-forming!“

“Excellent NY style pizza. Been a few years since my last visit because of distance, but it was still great Pizza just like my last visit. This is a must if your in downtown Ft Myers even our President Trump came here to eat a while back! This is the same street that the 1985 Filming of Day of the Dead that was filmed. The opening scene was filmed right here in downtown Ft Myers. So this street has some filming history to it. I must say again the pizza here is fantastic and sooooo delicious. I even bought a cannoli to bring home. Go try it you might LOVE it! My next visit I will have to try the meatball parmigiana!“

“I can't say enough great things about Mellow Mushroom! This is the best pizza in town! Whenever I go I always start with the pretzel bites! So yummy and addicting. Then depending on what I am in the mood for I get a salad or a pizza. The salads are all delicious but my favorite is the Greek or bacon Blue Wedge. If I do pizza I get either the Buffalo Chicken or Pacific Rim. I love the thick crust and basically all of them. Then if there is room, for dessert, the chocolate brownie or cookie with ice cream! 😋 oh and they have vegan and gluten free items! Can't go wrong here! “Mixed feelings. The food and service were great as usual. We went as a family of 8, did the 45m to 1 hour wait and was seated in N/W corner. The problem was that for the hour before seating and after being seated no one from the restaurant mentioned to us that the A/C was not working! Our server confirmed and even told us to use the menu insert as a fan. Needless to say we felt deceived and made it a night to remember, for the wrong reason.“
