“Chicken biscuit & hash browns were good, but could’ve been better if they were fresher… They had 2 ppl taking orders & by the time we got to the window almost everyone’s orders (like 15 bags) were waiting on the counter… If they can’t serve orders as fast, maybe taking orders a little slower may help…“
“Service is slow, as usual. I always do pick up for counter service and I have always waited annnnd I'm the only person in line. Food is good, it's chicken salad, c'mon. But the wait sucks.I have never not waited. The double negative is utilized to help fully describe the not positive energy I feel when I have to wait to pay for the items I want to purchase and I'm the only person at the counter. I see them through the large rectangular window working on other orders. I smile and wave. They immediately look down and get back to doing something. Social anxiety maybe? Perhaps. I put my items down on the counter and walk to the other side of the building. Two tables, total of 4 people. No server or employee in sight except for the two behind the rectangular kitchen window. I go back to the items I want to purchase (2 originals, 1 broccoli salad, cookie). Look back at the kitchen, they're gone now. Look at the front door. Contemplate how easy it is to walk out the door. Leave cash on the counter and take these items and go. As I'm mentally estimating how much these items cost with tax, someone finally walks out of the kitchen and greets me. I pay, leave, as I get in the car, my waiting partner asks if I had to catch and pluck the chicken.Feb 2024.“
“This location has become a college kid's saving grace - what's better than chicken tenders, cane's sauce and lemonade super late at night? Every time I've been, the service has been beyond the standard and the food has been excellent. I understand the hype about this place. I absolutely recommend this spot and hope to return!“
“My sister in law and I stopped here the other day when we were running errands and it was amazing. Pretty cheap for the portions, and I love that the tenders are COVERED in sauce. The only thing I would change is having bigger water cups, and bigger sauce cups for the ranch and blue cheese.“

“Stopped in for lunch & was pleasantly surprised. It was good enough we decided to order dinner as well. I got the 2 chicken family dinner with black beans, mac-N-chez, Coleslaw, and yellow rice.. We are a family of 7,(some times more)with VERY persnickity eaters... they ALL enjoyed their food! I fed 7 people for UNDER $40.00!! Service was GREAT! Food was hot & fresh! “G’ville is a true Southern food Gem! The catfish is outstanding, the best I’ve ever had! The shrimp was very good, fresh and tasty. The chicken wings were also excellent. Surprisingly, I liked their gizzards even though I don’t like gizzards! The only negative thing I can say is that the fries are a little too soggy. They need to put some vinegar in their cooking oil to crisp up the fries.Their banana pudding is also outstanding, the best I’ve ever had as well.The price is also extremely good. Great food, good amount and great price! We will definitely go there again on every visit to Gainesville!“

“I first had Germain’s during an event that they catered. I do not claim to know if they still offer catering but you’re going to want to visit their 8th Ave location in Gainesville FL either way. Get a sandwich and fries. They also served water in glass bottles that you are free to take to your chosen table. They’re in a plaza with several other businesses. A record shop, Sunshine Records, a second hand shop called Flashbacks and just across a split parking lot is local gem that offers brunch and I believe more, Afternoon. Cypress & Grove is across the way and Serpentine is a kickass plant shop. As downtown Gainesville has expanded, some sweet spots are outside of University and Main. Take a chance and wander, there’s a huge arcade across from Germain’s called Bragging Rights, make an afternoon and enjoy yourself. Parking is ample. See ya out there.“
