“Hubby and I came to try Gallos Pollos on a Tuesday and it was SO good! We brought 2 more family members 2 days later and came back again today! This place is AHHHMaaaazzzzing!!! The food is delicious and so full of flavor! The steak, chicken, and carnitas are tender and juicy! The cornbread is moist and so good! The icing on the cake…is the staff!! “I started going to Athena’s when my son and family first moved to Maitland over 17 years ago. Since 2018 I went there at least once a week. Having to move back to Connecticut, I miss their chicken so much. My grandchildren know when I come to visit that is the first place I stop to eat. Their chicken is always so delicious and moist. “This was our first time trying Dave's. We tried two tenders, fries, and a mozzarella stick, heat level varying from mild to hot. The tenders and mozzarella stick were amazing, possibly the best quality chicken tenders we've ever had. We were a bit disappointed with the heat level. Everything tasted delicious but none of it was spicy, there was more sweet for sure. Still delicious and we’ll definitely be back and will have to try the hotter options.“

“Family was visiting from out of town last week, so we placed a large to‑go order at the Pollo Tropical in Sanford. When it came time to pay, our debit card kept getting rejected, even after the staff tried multiple registers and attempted to split the payment.

We were about to remove items to pay in cash when the manager, Pedro, explained there was a software glitch preventing debit card payments over $50. He immediately stepped in and discounted our order by 35%, which allowed us to get everything we needed.

With a little patience and understanding, what could have been a frustrating situation turned into a positive experience. Our whole family was extremely grateful for Pedro’s help and the Sanford team’s effort to make things right.“

I had to leave the drive through completely and wait for 5-10 extra minutes in a parking spot, and the girl running the drive through personally profusely apologized and gave me a big handful of free coupons.

That’s how to do customer service. I’ve been to other fast food places where I had to wait and I get nothing but a dirty look and half cold food.“

I had to thank them, for a job well done before I left the restaurant! I arrived at 12:30pm, for lunch, while eating I saw about seventy-five to a hundred teenagers (our future leaders) flowing in right up until I left around 1:55pm. He is incredibly warm, kind, and full of Caribbean charm. The way he treats people is just beautiful. He’s patient with every order, takes his time to recommend dishes, and you can truly feel the pride he has working at Pollo Tropical.
But what stands out the most is how he makes you feel—like family. That kind of service is rare, and for us, that connection means everything. I’ve become a regular customer just because of him.
Yesterday he wasn’t there, and you could really feel the difference. The place just isn’t the same without his energy, his care, and his charisma.
