The food is awesome! Lindsey, the outside bartender is amazing as well! The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting.
We were really excited to try Coastal Del Mar, but unfortunately the experience was a major disappointment, mostly due to the food.
It started with the calamari, which was served literally floating in about a quarter inch of fryer oil. That set the tone for the rest of the meal. Our main dishes were all pretty poor. The creamed spinach was clearly made from frozen, chopped spinach—mostly stems—mixed with an odd cheese sauce. The cheddar grits were instant, microwave...read full review
Disappointed experience! Went made reservations for our Anniversary. We arrived 10 minutes early so we realized we would have to wait for a short time. We were told that we would receive a text message at our reservation time. We waited patiently inside the front of the restaurant. Many people came in and were seated immediately. Coastal Del Mar - Seafood Grill is a gorgeous little locally owned restaurant with an upscale feel. The staff is amazing, friendly, and always ready with a big smile. The decor is natural and saltwater-themed, creating a nice ambiance. The calamari is tossed in a delicious sauce with banana peppers, making it very tasty. The fresh catch of the day, Corvina with lemon butter sauce, is cooked perfectly. The haddock piccata and fish and chips are delicious, with generous portion sizes. The restaurant is conveniently located near a performance venue and offers good value wine options. The food is top shelf, and the service is efficient and pleasant. It's nice outside with Spanish Springs views and inside white table cloth dining is perfect for a relaxed dinner. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and service. The seafood is fabulous and the platter is great if you're very hungry. Parking is limited right at Spanish Springs Town Square, especially on holidays, special event days and when the Square is busy. Focus on parking behind the restaurant location. It's definitely for adults and can get busy and noisy so might not be best for your very little ones.
