“This is a hidden gem that shouldn't be overlooked! The outside is a little unassuming and blends in with all the businesses, marine shops, etc. The inside though is made up of an eclectic display of lush tropical plants, trees, knickknacks, exotic snacks, cookies and the like. There is outdoor seating with ample fans and overhead cover. Definitely an island vibe. I had the Jerk Chicken meat pie to start which was the best I've had. Then I tried the Hawaiian grilled cheese sandwich. Sweet bread and full of awesome flavor! I then had the mango BBQ ribs from the on site food truck. Perfect amount of smoke and sweetness and perfectly done. Washed it down with fresh squeezed mango lemonade which was refreshing and perfectly sweet! Overall this was the best meal and atmosphere in all of the Keys I've tried! So much so, I made it a point to let the cashier/host know as well as the working owner at the food truck. Highly recommend!!“

The Hideaway Café is truly a hidden gem! From the very first time we walked through the door, we were welcomed like family. The atmosphere inside the café is warm and inviting, and you can immediately tell this place is something special.

The food is absolutely incredible—every dish is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care and passion. You can taste the quality in every bite. Chef Freda is amazing, and it really shows in the kitchen. Her talent and love for what she does come through in every meal.

What really makes this place stand out is Chef Freda herself. She made us feel like part of the family from the very first time we walked in, and that kind of genuine hospitality is rare to find. Because of her and the wonderful food, we will absolutely be coming back.

The café experience was wonderful. The hotel property itself could use a little attention and updating, but the café and Chef Freda more than make the visit worthwhile.

“Wow! This restaurant, the food and the customer service were amazing! My family had been vacationing down in Marathon for about a week and we had yet to find a good restaurant. We tried out all of the other recommended places that were supposedly very delicious and we were not very impressed. They all tasted like cheap bar food. We found this restaurant just from a Google search and it had good reviews so we figured we would give it a try. It’s very hard to find a restaurant that all five people in my family can say that they loved without a shadow of a doubt, but this place is it. We tried a whole bunch of different menu items and every single thing was amazing! From the Cubans, the oxtail, the cheeseburger, the coquette and milkshakes. It was so good that we are actually considering going back tonight for dinner when we were just there today for lunch. We spoke with one of the family members that owns the restaurant and he was so great! Explained the different menu items to us when we weren’t sure what they were. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Skip the big fancy chain restaurants and eat here next time you won’t regret it!“

“Fun place for families, with lawn games in the beautiful outdoor eating area. Local live music. Kids enjoyed the BBQ options. Conch and clam chowders were great. Good kids menu.

“We went almost everyday! Bagels are delicious! Great to have my kids know what a real bagel is. Don’t be deterred by a long line, they go quick plus it’s fun listening to all the accents. Highly recommend the Nova with the works!“

“Love this place! We’ve been coming here many times throughout the years and enjoy the atmosphere and delicious food! Our ONLY issue here has been one specific, rude waitress. Today was the 2nd time we’ve had her as our waitress. First time (last year) she attended our families, we noticed she was rude, but gave her the benefit of the doubt, figuring she was having a bad day. But today, she was being extremely rude, unprofessional and seemed annoyed. She treated our kids poorly and treated the adults like kids. I’d still recommend this place, but please be aware not to have TANIA as your waitress!“

“We got too hungry on our drive to Key West and had to stop 1hr out. We oicked this place. We thought it was more of a dine in restaurant, but it was an outdoor poolside bar with tables. It was surprisingly quaint with beautiful views and the pool goers were quiet.

We ordered a few different foods, and everything was great. Especially the blackened fish tacos.“

“This place was recommended by the bartender at our resort. When I saw it was located in a strip mall I did not have high hopes. But everything was beyond excellent. We watched the Eagles game and got a few football specials. My kids each got a burger that they raved about. I had blackened tuna bites that were amazing!!! We will be back next trip!!“
