“56 of us stopped in for breakfast Saturday Feb 12th. They sat everyone immediately with no problems. The waitstaff was really fast , professional and attentive. Our server didn’t miss beat. Even with so many people ordering at the same time. I sat with a group of ten and everyone’s order was spot on and delicious. I highly recommend you visit Popis!“

“The food was absolutely delicious. Riley was an excellent server (thank you again). The view was beautiful, seats right on the river. Wow! My only complaint was my whiskey sour was a bit on the weak side. Will definitely stop again when in the area. PS: if you’re not used to Florida, you might want to spray some bug spray on your legs if you eat outside.

“My wife and I came to the Ellenton area on our honeymoon. Her local family reccomended we check out Woodys River Roo. It was our first stop and the only repeat stop during our week down here. We went to "The Roo" on three separate occasions and loved each one. The food was great, the view of the manatee river was very nice, but the friendly hardworking staff was the cherry on top. They all really seemed to love each other and worked together like a well oiled machine. They made us feel right at home and made sure everything was just right. Bar tender Johnny, who I belive said had been employed there for 15 years, reccomended a lot of other great places to drink and dine in the area. They also have a gift shop and live entertainment from, music to trivia 7 days a week! 10 out of 10 would reccomend. My wife and I hope to be back sooner than later!“

I had my three-year-old daughter with me and another three-year-old in the family there as well, they brought out pizza dough for them to play with Which truly made it a memorable and fun experience. “My husband and I recently had the pleasure if dining at Sophie’s, in Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota. What an amazing experience. The decor both inside and outside so chic. We had Matty as our waitress. She was spot on with top notch service and a wonderful personality. We started with a bread basket of assorted toppings, delicious. He had the Tai chicken. Well prepared and perfect with seasoning. I had on of the best burger ever. Cooked and seasoned perfectly at medium rare with tasty fries. The manager checked on us several times, a nice touch you don’t see anymore. If you happen to be in the area at the mall, I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. We will be back.“

“It was a wonderful dining experience all around from beginning to end. Atmosphere and decor was romantic and at the same time very quaint. Our server Sara was attentive to our table of 4, very pleasant and professional. We all ordered different alcoholic drinks, and each one was interesting with a twist. Our selections of food from starters to main was excellent. We had a birthday celebration and a complimentary over the top dessert was brought to the table. Such a nice touch to end a fantastic meal. “If I were opening a restaurant, it would be just like this. Menu was diverse with a bit of a twist here and there - in a good way. Also the menu was well labeled for GF and vegan choices. Service was great. Food was tasty-very fresh, no just-out-of the-jar flavor. Beverage choices are yummy too. I had the Thai chicken curry soup, avocado toast, watermelon sangria, on tap kombucha and the lemon olive oil cake for dessert. My family had yakisoba, salad and GF chicken enchiladas. All delicious. Staff is happy and helpful. Overall great vibe.“

We finally did get to eat - the actual plates we ordered and the manager was very kind in waiving all the fees and invited us back for a better experience- of which we have enjoyed. “good place, but the dog on the bar/barstools has to go. every waitstaff person pets that dog and never wash their hands. if its a service animal, it needs to be on the floor, not being fed at the bar by employees and patrons, which i have witnessed.“

“prime rib special was delicious. reservations were at 6:15. it was so loud in the restaurant we couldn't talk to our friends at the table next time, I'm eating outside Then a couple came in with a southeastern guide dog who laid down by my leg I really didn't appreciate this since I am not a dog lover and it is an expensive place to eat.“

“We just returned from staying one night at this location. Overall it was a very positive experience. Pros: Very clean; especially the areas that they have recently renovated. Our room on the fourth floor had brand new carpeting and some new furniture. Fair price. They only charged $50 for our dog (most hotels are $75-$100). Location a couple of miles from downtown and the airport. Cons: If you don't pre-purchase the breakfast (was $10 on top of the base room fee for 2 people) it is $16.95 per person. Great deal at $5 but not at $16.95. The toilet in the room "screamed" every time you flushed it. Overall. We would certainly stay at this location again if in the ares; especially if we have the dog along with us.“
