“Absolutely hands down one of the best meals I’ve had all year. Highly recommend the gnocchi, the raw scallop appetizer, and the tartine appetizer. And for the rest of my life, if someone asked me what I’d want for my last meal, I’d say “give me the gnocchi at Meliora”. I cannot emphasize how much it stood out despite everything else being so good already. On my first bite, I had to close my eyes and stop chewing so that I could comprehend how amazing it tasted and how light the texture was. Throw everything you’ve ever described as “pillowy” in the trash because this gnocchi should be the only thing in the dictionary under that word. While the drinks are pricey and the meal overall was higher than average for a night out, it is 100% worth it. We were swept off our feet.“

The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. 3rd round of mussels this week at other restaurants and Clayton’s was by far the BEST. The Clayton salad is light and the dressing is tasty. The butter they serve with the bread is different than any I’ve tasted and I could eat it with a spoon. The crab cakes were excellent and seared to perfection. The scallops melt in your mouth. “I gave Shore 4 stars for not for the food but for the atmosphere. It's a sexy cool spot in heart of St. Armand's Circle. The staff was friendly. We went at 2pm thinking we'd missed the lunch crowd. The place was still packed. We only had to wait 15-20 minutes though. Drinks were great, had the Bee Keeper, Barrel Aged Cocktail and Espresso Martini. Started with the Crispy Bao Buns. I got the Tuna Tartare as my entree, hubs had the Faroe Island Salmon, you can see by his empty plate (forgot to take a before pic) that he enjoyed it. The tuna tartare was fresh and light. I feel there is "always something" good, bad or indifferent when dining out. My "always something" for Shore was the crispy bao buns. I know it says it in the name but I think one of the great thing about bao buns is the pillowy goodness and these crispy ones just missed the mark for me. All in all Shore is a great place to go grab a bite while shopping St. Armands Circle.“

We had waters to drink. The place was super busy, so the servers were really spread too thin. Maybe they were short-staffed? The portions were really big, so that was good. Although we didn't sit outside, it looked really nice! Good place for the snowbirds, but as a local, we have other top choices!“

Veggie omelette, was so delicious and full of veggies! The home fried potatoes are seasoned and cooked perfectly. Even though it was a busy weekday evening in the circle (which is standard there), we were seated quickly and easily, and the service was nice throughout.I ordered the grouper tacos, which were rather good, and accented well by the seet plantains and black beans. My wife got a salad, my daughter got mac and cheese and my son the chicken thumbs, and they all seemed happy with their choices. The price is unsurprisingly pretty high considering, though that's standard for the area. Overall, it was a nice stop and worth a look if spending some time on the busy circle.“

“The First Watch in downtown Sarasota is the one I’m reviewing. I’ve had mostly good experiences here. The food is good and although it can be kind of noisy, the atmosphere is pleasant. The million dollar bacon and bloody maries are both first rate. I’ve had two really bad experiences here and the last one might mark the end of my relationship with this restaurant.If you go on a weekday morning you’ll probably be fine. If you go on a weekend morning, you’re playing Russian roulette with your dining experience. Some of the wait staff are good or at least average. The problem is that nearly half of the wait staff don’t know what they’re doing. The first bad experience I had was with a waitress who didn’t speak English well enough to take our order. She was a really nice person, but if you need help taking an order, you shouldn’t be a waitress in the busy section of a restaurant. She also brought the bill with our food. The restaurant has a policy of bringing the check halfway through your meal that incentivizes the wait staff to turn tables over. It’s a really bad policy. The last time I ate there (possibly ever?) we had a waiter who was so bad at his job, we stopped eating and left halfway through the meal. He brought the check with the food, got both of our orders wrong, and couldn’t figure out how to bring the person I was eating with a black coffee. Mind you, this guy had the largest section on a Saturday morning. My advice: if you want something decent on a weekday, go ahead and give First Watch a try; if you like sure things or it’s a weekend, go to Boulevard Cafe, Station 400, or C’est La Vie. They all have better food and service.“

“Small, cozy bar off S Tamiami Trail. We went on a Friday night, and there was a 30-minute wait for regular seating. The bar had open seats so we decided to just order there. I got the stuffed jalapenos, and they came out hot and fresh. Crispy bacon exterior, with a cheesy mozzarella interior. For my main course, I went for the Hawaiian burger, which did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly to temp with two grilled pineapple wheels, LTO, and bbq sauce on the side. Two thumbs up. My wife got the cheese steak and said it was good but not the best. Both of our main dishes were served with crispy steak fries and a pickle spear. I normally dont like thick cut steak fries because they aren't normally cooked with an exterior crisp, but these were. Service was a bit slow but only because of how busy it was. Service bar drink tickets were printed nonstop, and the bartender did a great job managing wait staff drinks while still tending to her bar guests. Overall, good food and service.“
