“Stayed here on an overnight, hadn't been in 10 years, and I had forgotten the quaint atmosphere of this place. Combined with good food and great friendly service, it's a great stop in St Petersburg whether you stay at the hotel or not. Some good daily specials, for both food and drink. Again came face to face with NAM (which stands for Not A Moose, from what I overheard! He's a caribou!) who overlooks the bar. This place is worth a visit if you've never been here!“

“Tonight was my first visit to Allelo on Beach Drive in St. Pete. We didn’t have a reservation but were lucky to get seats at the bar around 7 p.m. They mentioned they were fully booked, though we did notice a few tables open both when we arrived and when we left. Still, we ended up having a great time at the bar! The female bartender was pretty friendly and attentive, and the bar back (a male) was busy helping with table and silverware setup ~ both were good. We ordered the Baby Gem Salad, Mussels in a delicious tomato sauce, and the Cocktail Shrimp, which were all fantastic. The cocktails were unique and interestingly crafted. The espresso martini had an interesting twist ~ a subtle touch of amaro that gave it depth. The lemon drop martini was made with their house lemonade, which gave it a refreshing and slightly unexpected flavor. My friend ordered the Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed it too. It was a bit loud inside, so next time I’ll definitely ask to sit outside, especially in this beautiful weather. The restaurant has a charming patio right on Beach Drive, a cozy bar area, and another smaller dining room to the right as you walk in. The space is beautifully decorated, with a hand-painted mural of birds by a local artist. They even provided a list so guests can learn about each bird featured on the wall ~ a thoughtful touch! I’m surprised it took me this long to visit, especially since I consider myself quite the foodie. Allelo has been open for 5 years, and after tonight, I can definitely say I’ll be back soon!“

“After deciding not to cook for my Wife bday, I decided to order food here...seen it thousands of times, first time ordering...The Staff is amazing...Tina and David were awesome, very friendly and professional....and the food was to die for...I only had appetizers, Crab Stuffed Shrimp, Bacon wrapped shrimp, basil meatballs, gouda spinach dip and the spring salad...everything was exquisite, fresh and so delicious...and can't beat that southern flavors...I can't wait to try all their other dishes. Food was reasonably priced & servers were super accommodating for a very late meal and tired committee, no request was unmet and it was with a smile. There are many options to dine in the area but the personal service was better than most attached hotels. Would return if in the area or at the hotel.“

“On December 6, 2023, the SPYC hosted the annual SILVER BELLS fundraiser Gala for the St Petersburg Opera Guild. They have hosted in the past and it's always been a great event. This year, the SP Opera Guild and the SP Yacht Club created a SPECTACULAR event. Shannon Nylander from the Catering department was an amazing ally. She worked with the committee on every detail. She quickly returned calls and emails and answered every question with friendliness and professionalism. She was incredibly accommodating with the Guild's somewhat unorthodox requests. She knew the details from our past events at the Yacht Club and was able to provide a unique perspective based on previous years. The Banquet Manger, Michael Gaisford, oversaw the event and was another great asset to guide our team. The food was delicious, and the presentation was lovely. The valet staff to the wait staff to the front desk 'ambassador' were all friendly and helpful. Truly a great experience. If you are a member or have a liaison at the SPYC, plan your event with them. I would strongly recommend it! Thank you all again.“
