“Wow! What an impressive evening at every level. Do not hesitate and book this restaurant for your next food adventure. The moment you walk into this establishment, you know the vibe is cool and these people know their food & spirits. The food is incredible and different than the typical Sarasota restaurant that has the same boring food offerings. I was impressed with the Iberico pork dish and unusually amazingly flavored vegetables and spices that accented the smoky, tender pork. The yuca side dish was similar to a potato but more flavorful and crispier mixed with an addition of corn, pickled cabbage and other vegetables. I haven't found a dish that impressed me more in recent years. The crispy salmon was a "oh wow" moment for my friend, who hails from the Pacific Northwest as do I, where Washingtonians know a thing or two about salmon. This restaurant provides your palate something different and if you're a veteran of dining out constantly, this is a welcomed change from the ordinary. The New York steak included an amazing demi glaze exploding with flavor and had the perfect consistency which can be a challenge to make right but State Street Eatinghouse + Cocktails got it right. I highly recommend the fried Brussell sprouts appetizer as they were a flavor explosion in our mouths. The bacon amplified the sprouts with the accompaniment of the balsamic glaze. My friend's husband and mine, who usually don't like this vegetable, were pleasantly surprised and ate more than the obligatory "try one" bite. State Street Eating House + Cocktails is owned by the same people that introduced us to tapas restaurant "Beso", which I recently tried, and awarded it my "Best Restaurant in Sarasota" award. This restaurant belongs in the "Restaurant Hall of Fame" of Sarasota or even US restaurants. I love it! My waiter, Dana, was super attentive and impressive. His vast knowledge of the drink and food menu was spot-on and his candor and expertise added to the whole evening's experience. What an amazing restaurant! I can't wait to book my next reservation and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Cheers! Dietary restrictions: I appreciate they were mindful of my cow's milk allergy which makes eating out difficult since most dishes have butter and/or cheese. Service was very good. “We had dinner at Siegfried's Restaurant on Feb. 26th - our third meal there and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. The schnitzel and sauerbraten are both excellent, as are the sides and desserts. The staff is warm and engaging and we were so happy to meet and speak with the chef/owner. The restaurant is in one of the cozy-looking cottages on Fruitville Rd and is the perfect setting for this authentic German restaurant. Be sure you make a reservation and be prepared to enjoy a fantastic German meal!“

“The food was not at all bad, it was as usual healthy good stuff. It just wasn't what it used to be. It's not as "elevated" as it once was. The yam wedges with aïoli was as good as always, the "crab cakes" needed some pizzazz, and the Mediterranean bowl was just kind of sad with a scoop of plain quinoa, 2 small falafel balls, some zing-less pickled cabbage, not enough hummus, and some grilled zucchini. Hopefully they will kick it back up a notch!“

“Quality of food. Life long member of the owners from Adrian Michigan. I don’t understand when I read comments as for “not authentic Mexican ingredients”. Does the sign not say “Tex-Mex”? In Adrian Michigan we have a large migrant population that prefers other Mexican restaurants over the grasshopper. Huge reason is that the taste buds of visiting Mexicans are used to hot, very hot. As I live here in Mexico I cannot sample any hot sauce because it’s too hot. So I bring my own hot sauce with me when I eat out. I don’t consider the menu as Tex Mex. The family founders brought recipes from Mexico but again, had to tone down the spicy seasoning for the northerners. HOWEVER, if you ask for the extra hot seasoning, they will make you a dishes that will set your mouth on fire upon request. I can’t explain the next topic, but that no one has complained but their menu prices that seem to never increase. As for the cheese dipping sauce? I haven’t been to the Sarasota location. But it’s a wise-tail in Adrian that the cook staff has to sign NDA’s just to know the recipe. Everyone has tried to replicate it but no one has ever gotten it correct. Linda/co-owner has been a lifelong full-time employee that worked every day beside her now ex husband that runs and operates the original Adrian Michigan establishment where his parents created the restaurant. She only hires the best staff and the staff are lifelong dedicated employees. In Adrian, no one visits for the decorations or environment because it’s nothing close to impressive, they visit for the food and service and the staff that brings you refills before knowing that you need one.“

They even can their amazing beers. The best part is the prices!!! I have been to many breweries and so many of them are charging up to TWICE as much as they do for these awesome beers. The customer service was outstanding, especially the woman who I met in the store when I picked up my order. She was such a lovely person and so helpful. She helped me pick out some other pastries and helped me carry my goodies to the car. The chocolate buttercream frosting on the cake reminded me of the icing my grandfather used to make.
