“I’m not sure where any of these one star reviews came from but please DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. A couple friends of mine randomly stumbled on this place tonight and we were BLOWN AWAY . Didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar . Our bartender Demetree was great , gave perfect recommendations, very polite, and VERY CLEAN . Kept his bar SPOTLESS. Ordered the calamari, spicy a la vodka , bolognese, margarita pizza and the crumble dessert. The food was AMAZING.. absolutely AMAZING. The calamari was so unique with the sweet and sour glaze , instead of the normal lemon and hot sauce . The a la vodka had the perfect amount of spice, the sauce was incredible. The bolognese was so flavorful and all the pasta was cooked perfectly. The pizza was so damn good ! With margarita pizzas it’s common that when you pull a slice , the cheese usually slides off or the sauce falls off , this was THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE. The crust was thin and crispy and didn’t get soggy at all. Being a chef myself , it was refreshing to find a restaurant that dedicated their time to the QUALITY of their food and drinks. We really appreciated the owner/chef coming to the bar and introducing himself. Down to earth guy and you can see how passionate he is about his food. If i could give more than 5 stars i would. “Delicious Maine lobster pasta in sauce. I loved it. Unfortunately, the Dover Sole was ok, not the freshness of fish I expect at this fine restaurant. Chef Angelo would not tolerate it on his plate. At $78 for the dish, any restaurant can put a delicious sauce. Angelo's recipes are the best. Angelo's should maintain better quality control of their fish in hot Ft Lauderdale. The sauce was very good, of course. I will go again. Not order fish. It's a problem in most restaurants. Didn't expect at this Ft Lauderdale gem.“

“Planta Queen on Las Olas is absolutely amazing. We ordered takeout (because it was Easter Sunday, and restaurants are packed!). We ordered seven different dishes, and we were blown away by each and every one. This fully vegan restaurant offers mainly Asian food that is fresh, beyond flavorful and totally different from your local Asian restaurant. They offer whole food items, no processed food, very fresh and unlike anything you've ever tasted before. Yes, they are expensive. And worth every penny. My taste buds had a real blast!! SO GOOD!!! It is a small chain with about 20 locations - many of them in Florida, but we're so glad there's a location near us!!! Try something truly different and so delicious for a change!!“

“This place is a hidden gem. Located in the Target plaza off of 441 in Coral Springs. They have hands down the best selection of baklava around, including vegan options. They also have a kitchen, but I can't speak to that since the only food I've had are their deserts and various varieties of dates. I've also had their Turkish coffee, which was also very good. They have an excellent selection of canned and dried goods along with a nice variety of teas. They are super friendly and will help you out if you have any questions. I don't smoke, but if hookah is your thing, they have what appears to be a nice selection, and I've seen people sitting outside partaking. Can't recommend this place enough. Highly recommend!“

I cringe because I'm very reluctant to give master chef level recommendations with such a plethora of ever changing restaurants, price points and service levels. My taste always leans to super fresh, fun, spicy ethnic-ish foods with bold flavors that you probably don't have to mortgage your house to afford. I'm from New England and have not had such a good egg in years. The waitress had an earpiece and the kitchen could hear everything she was saying. Skip the Thai Garlic and Sushi place across the street (I got food poisoning from there) and come here instead.
