“Absolutely delicious!! It’s hard to impress me when it comes to soul food. I’m from Georgia and since I’ve been here in Tampa a lot of the soul food spots don’t do it for me. They’re usually very bland, or just not good but not fork it up 813. This is the first soul food restaurant here that I actually really enjoyed. Everything is well seasoned and flavorful! I got the fried chicken, Mac and cheese, yams, collard greens and strawberry banana pudding. All of it was Delicious!! 10s across the board! Will definitely be eating here again.“
“Ordered the twice baked turkey wings, collards, cabbage, and candied yams from Uber. Everything was top tier and seasoned to perfection. The meat fell off the bone on the turkey, the collards had bite and cabbage had crunch and the yams were fresh and actually candied. I would definitely recommend. Can’t wait to try it again. Hope I can get My order in early enough to get some of that mac & cheese when I double back.“
“Swangin!!!! I ordered the fish and grits, a waffle and a chicken wing off of DoorDash. Fish was fried perfect, grits were not too thick or too watery, my eggs are scrambled and seasoned. I was somewhat skeptical on the price for the waffle. I was expecting an ego. I got something so massive, fluffy, and tasty that I couldn’t finish it. The chicken wing was fried as well as the fish it was seasoned. I like mine fried a little bit harder and I wish that was an option. Great value and taste for the price I would definitely recommend.“
“Burnin Barber-Que catered my daughter’s graduation party and to say that the food was spectacular is an understatement!! Their BBQ and sides were/ are the best that I have had in YEARS!!!!! I highly recommend this establishment and will definitely be returning when I come back to Tampa!!“
“The owner is very kind and professional. The hot honey chicken and waffles is amazing and the Grouper Dinner is great. My three year old is very picky and this is one of the only restaurants that he will eat their sides. Don't forget your mango cheesecake, that cake always hits the spot!!!! -Lorraine“

“The food was fantastic. The best friend chicken I've ever had and even the kids were delighted. The staff was great. The food is cooked to order and they came over to let us know it will take a little bit to cook fresh but offered to bring the kids out right away. From 7th Street, keep walking past the bars and restaurants until you find this gem.“
“Listen I have been riding by saying I’m gone try this place and I finally did and honey it’s soooo good! The plates are a hefty amount and the food is seasoned to perfection. I had the smothered chops and my husband had the ribs and I must say these were the best chops I’ve ever eaten besides my dads. I have never met anyone who can cook a smothered pork chop like him until I went to this place. I recommend EVERYONE to go here and eat! If you are looking for some good old soul food like you what get at your granny house then this is it. I also met the owner and she is so humble and down to earth hell I didn’t want to leave from chatting with her and her daughter. Very family oriented and welcoming. I love this place and will definitely be returning with lots of friends!“
