“We all had a very experience. Had to wait about 30 minutes for a seat on a Saturday evening. Food was great but the kitchen was a bit slow. We were in a booth that was pretty tight getting in and out of. This has been a fun additional restaurant option and sorry to see them close.“

“We are so thrilled that Hey Mon opened up within WALKING distance of our house. We will definitely become regulars. Our whole family loves their Puff Bread . The Roti Bread is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The sauces are delicious! We haven’t even begun to try the dinners but we’ll be back!!! My goal is to make my way through the entire menu by the end of the summer. We go to the Caribbean every year for Spring Break. What a way to have the islands here all year round!“

“The Shrimp & Company is a quaint seafood restaurant on the corner of 7th Ave and 22nd St in Ybor City. If you have walked past it headed for the restaurant across the street then you have missed the best seafood you could eat in Tampa. You have to try their Florida or Louisiana Steam Pot, any of the seafood baskets and their shrimp stuffed mondongo. The food and terrific service is worth another trip to the small family owned restaurant. Don’t miss it!“

“Island Jerk Shack did NOT come to play.
They catered half the food at my wedding, and let me tell you… it was an absolute HIT. Like, people still talking about it kind of hit. The jerk chicken was unreal—perfectly seasoned, smoky, juicy, with that authentic island flavor that instantly transported me straight back home. 🇯🇲✨
The rice and peas? Flawless. Rich, comforting, and exactly how it’s supposed to taste. This wasn’t just “good catering food”—this was real Jamaican food, made with love and serious skill.
So grateful we chose Island Jerk Shack for such an important day. The food brought warmth, joy, and a whole lot of flavor to our celebration. If you want authentic island vibes and food that feels like home, look no further.

“Dec.2022 Excellent Jamaican food. There was a group of us there having lunch. We had curried goats, fried fish among other dishes. I had the curried goat and it was very delicious. I was truly impressed and will definitely return whenever I am in town as I was visiting from Texas.“

“Place is really close to home so that's convenient. Good food. Best for takeout, not eating in. They don't speak much English so point to tell them what you want and they'll take care of you. I ordered the vegetable tray, since I'm not eating meat right now. It was seasoned to perfection and perfectly crispy brown. I didn't miss meat at all.“

“Have heard abt Tara’s for over 30 years but never stopped in. Recently changed to a vegetarian diet and wanted to get something good and filling. I ordered the Vegetarian Sampler and a vegetarian roti, my husband ordered the Boneless Chicken Roti. He enjoyed his order and I loved mine‼️. I would suggest if you don’t know what you want as a vegan or vegetarian, order the sampler. You will not be disappointed, the flavors are memorable ‼️ 😋
I now have a place to eat when I want flavorful vegetarian food. They serve all types of meat dishes on the menu also so everyone has a choice! I suggest you give Tara’s a try, you won’t be disappointed 😊“

“This is such a nice hidden gem. I had a short time for lunch on a weekday and wanted something good to eat. Looked up some places by me and this one came up. When I got there it doesn't look like a restaurant style but it is such a good place to eat. You can grab something already made and the selection is incredible or you can get something that requires some extra love. The food was delicious and a lot. Highly recommend.“

“I had the best experience I’ve ever had anywhere. I got the oxtail, Mac and cheese, and cabbage and the sunrise drink. The woman who helped me was so kind! (I think her name was Laurie or Maury) I even came in right before close and she was still so sweet. I’ll be back for sure!!
