“Tonight was my first visit to Allelo on Beach Drive in St. Pete. We didn’t have a reservation but were lucky to get seats at the bar around 7 p.m. They mentioned they were fully booked, though we did notice a few tables open both when we arrived and when we left. Still, we ended up having a great time at the bar! The female bartender was pretty friendly and attentive, and the bar back (a male) was busy helping with table and silverware setup ~ both were good. We ordered the Baby Gem Salad, Mussels in a delicious tomato sauce, and the Cocktail Shrimp, which were all fantastic. The cocktails were unique and interestingly crafted. The espresso martini had an interesting twist ~ a subtle touch of amaro that gave it depth. The lemon drop martini was made with their house lemonade, which gave it a refreshing and slightly unexpected flavor. My friend ordered the Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed it too. It was a bit loud inside, so next time I’ll definitely ask to sit outside, especially in this beautiful weather. The restaurant has a charming patio right on Beach Drive, a cozy bar area, and another smaller dining room to the right as you walk in. The space is beautifully decorated, with a hand-painted mural of birds by a local artist. They even provided a list so guests can learn about each bird featured on the wall ~ a thoughtful touch! I’m surprised it took me this long to visit, especially since I consider myself quite the foodie. Allelo has been open for 5 years, and after tonight, I can definitely say I’ll be back soon!“

“The place was amazing with the gentle lighting that provided so much ambiance! Our waitress was phenomenal as well as far as her attention to service. And the food was quite tasty! It was a SMALL menu. But our party of 5 was very very pleased. Meals on that menu were priced at about $19 to $26.“

After having a work dinner on the Pier, I recommended the group go for another drink at the Vinoy. I could not be more pleased with the service at the Veranda. “I took my daughter to this establishment for her birthday. We had reservations, but I noticed limited parking upon arrival; however, I found a spot. We waited a few minutes and were seated. Our server, Leah, greeted us, and we ordered beverages and an appetizer. I knew what I wanted right away, while my daughter took a bit longer and chose the lasagna. When the food arrived, the generous portions impressed us. Both of our meals were delicious. I mentioned to the server that it was my daughter's birthday. The head chef also checked in to see if everything was good. Bruce, who was fantastic, surprised my daughter with a big slice of chocolate cake and sang Happy Birthday with the crew. Great job! “My friend and I had a lovely girls trip to Hotel Zamora. The room was beautiful, the food was excellent, and most of the staff were very friendly.

A few hiccups:

Check-in: We arrived early and were told we’d be called when the room was ready, but didn’t hear back until around 5 PM, after the pool bartender had checked in to learn the room still wasn’t ready at 4:30. We appreciated the drink and food vouchers, but clearer communication (especially about off-site linens causing delays) would have helped.

The room: Beautiful, but the beds and pillows were uncomfortable, I left with a sore back.

The staff: Overall wonderful - Maryann, Corey, and Franck stood out. However, one interaction with management felt unprofessional, as they spoke negatively about an employee to us whom we were trying to compliment.

The pool bar: This should be open at least some days during the week, the pool was busy and we would’ve spent more there. Calling upstairs for drinks is uncomfortable.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay but see room for improvement.“
