“DeRusso's (or Marco's as we still refer to it) is a gem on Tierra Verde and surrounding. A solid and reliable experience with good pizza (request "very" well done and double cut) apps (meatballs and garlic knots), subs, salads, dinners and more. They have a bar and small dine-in area that is cozy and convenient and don't forget, they deliver!! ??“

“This is my new favorite restaurant downtown. I asked for them to add truffle to my gnocchi alfredo, and they did and it was almost as good as the truffle gnocchi I got in Marseilles. Kennedy was our server and for those to things I will be back more than I should.“

“Was out and about in St.Pete/Pinellas Park and stumbled on to this little gem. It's in a strip mall at the end off of Park Street. The owners, cook, serve and run the business. It's neighborhood quaint. The Pasta Fagioli was amazing. The Pizza , small was enough for three people. It was a solid 9 out of 10. The sauce was good and pizza crust was perfect. The sausage was sliced not crumbled, it was loaded with toppings. It was busy and they kept everything coming out of the kitchen with minimal wait. They serve beer and wine. The wine was ok, it's either red or white, no bottles. They also serve beer. For the price and quantity it was good. It's a try if you're in the area. For the price“

“Such a cool little pizza joint! Definitely the local pizza place, service was so good by the girl working. Very personal, treated us as though we were regulars. The food is very good. Loved their cheese bread and garlic knots! They have an awesome sauce that they heat, which is always the best. They do sell beer which is a BIG PLUS! Their atmosphere was quaint, but fitting. “Looks from the outside: sketch. Very lovely on the inside though. Comfortable chairs. The wait staff were AMAZING. I got the Spaghettle al Nero (squid ink black spaghetti) with mussels and shrimp in a garlic lemon sauce. Delicious! Portions were exceptional and they gave you a ton of mussels. My guest got their butternut squash ravioli and she loved it! Wish they gave some bread to dip in oil or at least a garlic knot or something with the entrées. But it was really tasty. The parking is horrible so be warned, but otherwise it was good food, good atmosphere, and great service. It was a bit warm in the restaurant, even on a not-so-hot day (it was about 70°F). We did make reservations and they had a reserved table just for us, which was fantastic.“

“Good Food, but Rushed We were the first customers of the day—early for us. I think the servers meant well, but everything was rushed. I felt like I was in a fast casual restaurant rather than a place where I would spend $125 for the two of us. Slow it down a bit and let us digest for a minute before dropping the next course. The food was good. We started with the recommended Bruschetta. It isn’t typical. Instead, the topping is in an accompanying bowl. The topping was delicious—how can you go wrong with tomatoes, basil and garlic in balsamic vinegar? We then shared a bowl of their special tomato bisque and it was delicious. We also shared a Caesar salad which my wife thought was too garlicy (I’m not sure that’s possible), so I ate her share. The server had asked me if I did or didn’t want anchovies on my salad so I said sure, but on the side. I had no idea that I’d be charged an extra $2.50, especially since it didn’t say that on the menu. Shame, shame. For mains I had the Pasta Pescatore which was good, but a little oily. My wife had the Chicken Piccata which she enjoyed. We accompanied those with some wines by the glass from their decent collection and they were fairly priced. I might go back, but I’d be clear with the server about not being rushed.“

Their homemade pasta is out of this world; their sauces to die for; their homemade bread served with sweet tomato jam and Kalamata olive tapenade is a mouth-watering start-up. If there is a finer Italian restaurant anywhere—and I’m including Italy, too, as I have dined all over Italy—I know not where it is. “You really can't go wrong with Jay Luigi, delicious food and great, friendly service! Everything on the menu is so good and the Creamy Tomato Vodka pasta is a favorite. We have also used Jay Luigi catering for a large wedding welcome event (100+ ppl) and all of the guests raved about the food. For the catering, working with Isabella was a dream; not only is she the sweetest person, but she was extremely helpful and professional, and made the whole thing seamless. Would highly recommend dining at Jay Luigi and using them to cater your next event!“

“We have been coming here yearly since 2011. This trip I had the pollo verducci and my wife had the rigatoni ala vodka. Both were outstanding. The woman who served us was a delight. We’ve never had anything but a great experience at Verduccis. We highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return for many more annual visits.“

“The pizza was really great. My fav since we moved in Pinellas Park area in Oct. The crust was good, nice cheese the toppings were delicious. I wish it was a little greasier but others wouldn't agree so ?. The wings were good. Cooked just right & they were a nice size. We had mild sauce it had a nice flavor. The salad was a nice salad but I wouldn't recommend the house dressing. It had ZERO taste. No vinegar, no seasoning, just the lightest of extra Virgin olive oil. It's as though they don't have a voice in the dressing dept.“

“This is a nice spot for good pizza. The cheese is real, and the pepperoni is greasy :) We got a supreme, a pepperoni, a white plane, 2 cheese calzones, and garlic knots. There was plenty of leftovers even after me and 3 growing boys attacked it all. The pies are huge! Large lives up to its name. The crust is nice, easily foldable but solid enough to eat without folding, so choose your way. The supreme was my favorite, but the others referred the calzones. One did straight cheeses, another did with onions and garlic.Parking: It is in a strip mall but there is usually ample parking. Few right in front and many just across the entry path/road.Kid-friendliness: Great food kids will enjoy. A small arcade in back. I would have enjoyed as a kid :)“

I was not very happy with the correspondence from our event coordinator, as it felt like I had to follow up several times to get answers. However, on the night of, service was wonderful and they were very accommodating on adding menu options that I forgot to add to our BEO. Overall a wonderful experience and our guests loved the food. I picked it up and took it home. I liked that the crust was brushed with garlic butter and well seasoned. We had a supreme pizza and it really hit the spot. Decent new pizza option. They did forget our garlic sauce, so make sure to check on the way out if you are carrying out.“

“Mighty Fine We’ve been to the original Bavaro’s in Tampa and always enjoyed it. This was our first time to their St Pete location. I think it’s even better. The restaurant is buzzy and comfortable and not too large. The servers are great. Monica was our server and she was helpful, efficient and very pleasant. We started with a couple of house cocktails—a little pricey but very good. I especially liked the Smoked Rosemary Negroni Sour. We went on to share the Garlic Bread. I expected a few pieces, but this was more like a 12” pizza covered in butter and garlic and cheese accompanied by some of their delicious pomodoro. We took about half of it home. We also shared the Wood-fired Broccolini. Again, it was a surprisingly large order and super tasty. Next we shared a bowl of the Tomato Basil Soup which was excellent. Then we shared a very good Caesar Salad. That was followed by a delicious Penne ala Vodka with Chicken. We took some of that home as well. We took a jar of the Pomodoro home with us.
