The Mgr made up for it by comping our first round of drinks and my husband's dinner (that was never put in), but wow. I feel like I was getting punked tonight.“

Alcapurria and Queso Frito were excellent. The stuffed mofongo was one of the best I’ve had in Tampa, while the arroz con gandules tasted reheated. Prices felt a bit high for a casual Puerto Rican spot in Brandon.

Pros: Great appetizers, excellent mofongo, friendly service
Cons: Rice quality, slightly pricey

Overall, a solid meal. I wouldn’t go out of my way, but I’d return if I’m nearby. Grade: B+“

“It was my First time eating here and it was so good! The portion sizes overall were a great size for the price. Around $55 with Uber eats Texas delivery charges, and driver tip. I had the Birria quesadilla, the large portion of rice, Chips with queso, Tres leches cake, and the Horchata for my drink. I was hungry and I wanted to get the full experience of what the restaurant had to offer. Leftovers are always a bonus! For my first order, I ordered for delivery on Uber Eats. Despite being delivery, Everything was hot, fresh and well packaged. I will say the Birria quesadilla was a little soggy on the bottom, but it tasted fantastic! Some of the best Beria I’ve had. The queso tasted homemade, flavorful, fresh and delicious! The portion of the tortilla chips, took up an entire brown paper bag full! (in my opinion when I order Mexican food for delivery and I see a big brown paper bag stuffed completely full of seasoned tortilla chips, that’s how I know the rest of the food is going to taste amazing!) I love the small detail of the seasoned chips. It’s like putting sprinkles on a cupcake. It’s not needed, but it makes it better. Everything was flavorful and well seasoned. My Birria quesadilla came with small sides of guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Even though the food didn’t need it at all and was flavorful and delicious without it. A few small critique I can give is that Tres Leche cake piece that I got was extremely small unfortunately, which I wasn’t expecting. It was only three small bites if that, but it was really delicious! My second critique is, I wish they offered a bigger cup of Horchata like they have the larger option for the Rice. Horchata is one of my favorite drinks, but honestly I can’t complain too much because everything including the Horchata and Tres leches cake was so good! I guess my only complaint is that there wasn’t more Horchata and Tres Leches cake. The slightly soggy texture of the Birria quesadilla I contributed to the fact that it was delivered still hot in a Styrofoam container, & I don’t consider that the restaurants fault. if I was giving a rating I would still give it a 10 out of 10. 100 percent! I will be eating here again, these small critiques that I have would not even change my rating! And I have leftovers so there’s some bonus points!Delicious food with overall large portions for the price!You guys did a great job! This selection might just become my favorite at Cali’s. Granted, the staff consists of young adults who are, in the least, committed to going to work to earn their pay. Their attitude is encouraging. I ordered their Fried Egg Rolls, Fried Dumplings, Pork Banh Mi and Grilled Pork with Jasmine Rice and everything was Authentic and Tasty. “This is absolutely the best breakfast place in Brandon. I went in a busy day, Fathers day. Even though it was packed the wait was not long. The server was amazing. The food is so mouth watering. They have the best sweet tea, French toast and poached eggs. They have espresso infused syrup that makes the pancake even better, and thays saying a lot. They have both the best that suaces [i am a hot sauce person]. The price is right because this food and atmosphere so worth it.“

“My last visit to Tampa was a home run with my brothers in the chap world. Simms killed it with the smoked mullet and turkey rice. The owners are great people and the food is off the chain. Thanks so much for doing food so right!“

“First time visiting, and overall I had a great experience.

I came in around 1:20 p.m. and asked for decaf coffee. I was told it had already been dumped, which was unfortunate since they close at 2:00. After my food came out, Kristen checked on me and I jokingly said it would be even better with decaf. A few minutes later, she surprised me with a fresh pot she brewed just for me. That kind of customer service is hard to find these days.

Kristen was friendly, attentive, and made my visit memorable. As a former firefighter, I also appreciated supporting a firefighter-owned business and the first responder discount. The food was good, too.

My only suggestion is to hold off on closing activities until closing time. While customers were still eating, chairs were being put on tables, employees were cleaning around us, and there was a lot of loud joking and yelling between the front and back of the restaurant. It wasn’t inappropriate, but it made it feel like we were being rushed.

“Cannot recommend Art Monkey enough! We recently hosted our young daughter’s birthday there and it was the absolute sweetest time! The new owners made planning flawless and everything was set up and ready to go when we arrived. She was so good with the kids and they had a blast. Made her day so special and all the parents kept commenting how they enjoyed it as well (food and wine/beer a major plus!). The kids all got to paint a ceramic followed but a delicious ice cream treat. What a special afternoon ☺️“

“My dog who passed away in March loved their strawberry shortcake. We did end of life photos in strawberry shortcake theme and even bought on from there. He passed a week later. When we told the people what we were doing they gave us an extra side of whip cream just for his end of life photos. I have these amazing photos to cherish forever“

The lady asked me if I wanted to try anything before I made a decision and she was very informative. If I had to say anything negative… they made the empanada too hot! They are made fresh to order and I HAD to take a bite before I left the parking lot! Sure, I did burn my mouth… but I don’t care and will do it again! 100% worth it! 🤪 $24 total and that included tip. I couldn’t wait to leave a review! I can not wait to introduce my family to this establishment.
