“Great service. Food is awesome. We had tacos of each of steak, pulled pork, chicken, pork w/red sauce. All very yummy! I had steak quesadilla that was just fabulous. Too full to try the snow cones, but will definitely go back.”

It's a shame that the dining experience is somewhat spoiled by no one at the front desk and a long time standing there waiting to be seated. After the meal it was a long wait for the dirty dishes to be removed. we had to go search for someone to get the check. “Great, popular seafood restaurant located in a strip mall. Parking is no problem. Usually a wait but tables turn quickly and hostesses are attentive, sometimes coming around with free snacks and they will take your drink order while you wait for a table. On the night we were there, they had fresh crayfish and pink shrimp on the specials menu, we ordered both and we were glad we did.”

“TLDR is GET ICE CREAM HERE! You can probably tell by my waist size that I’ve eaten more ice cream than I care to admit but Guyer’s has to be among the best! It’s SUPER thick, creamy, flavorful, sweet… just amazing! I don’t know what kind of alchemy or magic they’re using but it even seems to melt slower than normal ice cream. My first trip I got 1 scoop of Blueberry Cheesecake and 1 Strawberry (fruit right… I can at least pretend that it’s healthier than chocolate)! My 2nd trip (yes it was like 18 hours later… don’t judge me;) I got 1 scoop of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup (PB = protein so healthy) and 1 Manatee Kisses… all incredible! I haven’t had their donuts yet but I hear they’re equally amazing! They also have dairy free and no sugar added options and snow cones! There are only a few tables inside but it’s Florida so there’s plenty of seating out on their elevated deck! Not the cheapest but worth every penny and calorie! “The Biscuit Barn is my favorite place to go for breakfast. Their omelettes are amazing, and the biscuits are huge and the best ever. My friend had a burger and she said it was delicious. Service is fast and friendly.”

“We found this gem while exploring the 1920s buildings and history in downtown Crystal River Florida. Located in a red brick building that was once a doctor’s office, there’s inside coziness with tables and a bar plus an outside back seating area with a waterfall. Catherine our server and Jeff the owner were warm and friendly. She mobilized the staff and a customer to sing Happy Birthday to my husband.”

“I'm from New York and whenever I come to Crystal River to visit family, I make at least one stop at cattle dog! It's great coffee with fun seasonal drinks, I've never had the same drink twice. Just got a fluffy bunny: toasted marshmallow and caramel. If you don't like the sweet stuff that's fine because again, it's great coffee and they have so many blends. If you enjoy it as much as I do, they have so many kinds of beans in bags to go. They'll grind the beans for you and everything.Food rocks too! The rotation of pastries has a mix of simple and funky options. Lots of yummy sandwiches. I got a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant today, which is cheaper than the one I got at Dunkin yesterday and like 10x better.The people are consistently lovely too, great service every time I've visited. And with my visits being spread out over the last 3 years, I think that says something about management.If you're visiting CR, make a stop at cattle dog and support these lovely people! Perfect place for a quick brunch before an adventure or to grab drinks to go and walk around town.”

“This restaurant is the perfect example of how I like to travel. No chain stores. Just real folks and real food. The atmosphere is good. Everyone kind of keeps to themselves and just enjoy the food. I had a simple big breakfast that didn’t disappoint. The food looked good and tasted better. The small things like perfectly sweetened sweet tea and the best biscuits that I have had in quite a while. Our server was very warming and fun. You’ll like this place. The menu is very diverse with the typical breakfast foods along with liver and onions and gator bites. I can tell that they take care of the kitchen because my home fries were fresh and the eggs were good with no extra taste from anything else on the grill. Just stop reading and stop by. It’s gud! ?”

“Nothing like a great seafood dinner. Served on a picnic table next to the water. The floor show of cow birds eating french fries was a great addition. I was surprised the pelicans didn't join in. Apparently they don't like blackened shrimp or Mahi Mahi. Can't imagine finding better seafood at a better price!”

“One of my favorite salad bars around. This vast salad bar includes fresh queso, chips, redneck stew, county style chili, fresh fruits and desserts. Their smoked meats and bbq sauces are amazing. Great family place but also good for date nights. This time I gave their mega bloody mary a try. It knocked my socks off. So flavorful and yummy. It included a bacon wrapped jalapeno popper , steak, olives, bacon and steak all for 12 bucks. Let me tell you I got full off the drink alone. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive.”

“Needed something special for Easter Sunday dessert and boy did Queen of Cakes deliver! We got some cupcakes and cookies and I have never tasted such amazing desserts - fresh ingredients and not overly sugary either. The owner is so amazing and her family run business is very clean and inviting. My husband and I will make this shop a regular stop for special occasions - and on days we are craving that something extra. Give this place a try, it is such a better alternative than grocery store bakeries or pre-packaged desserts. Plus it is great to support local businesses such as these.”

“I’m here from Buffalo, NY visiting my best girlfriend in the area and we just came in for dinner with 5 kids in tow! Gabby was so welcoming and great with our rowdy table. The place was clean and cozy and smelled like smoky BBQ heaven! We enjoyed everything we ate from the homemade pork rinds (tried ALL the sauces on the table!) and all the smoky meats. The kids cleaned their plates as did the adults. My favorite was the brisket, but everything was excellent. The price for 7 of us to eat (and carry home another meals worth of leftovers) was more than reasonable. I couldn’t believe this place was not packed. We’ll be back for sure! Thank you Gabby and everyone behind the scenes!And just had to add a most honorable mention to the hands down most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth smoky jalapeño poppers I’ve ever had.”
