“This Jamaican restaurant is a hidden Gem in Covington, GA! Being Jamaican born and raised myself, I take special interest in finding and trying different Jamaican restaurants when I come across them near and far! As of February 2023, and as far as I know, this is 1 of 2 Jamaican restaurants in Covington. Though I haven’t tried the other restaurant as yet, Ms. Gwen has me loyal to her restaurant as her food is authentic and makes me feel so nostalgic! Here are a few reasons why I am loyal to this restaurant:1. The Oxtail is soft, juicy, and seasoned just right!2. The J*** chicken, both the spicy and the sweet is really tasty.3. Her chicken soup tastes and feels like a nurturing mother’s home cooked soup and just-what-the-doctor-orders when you need a soup to help you recover from a cold or flu, which is SOOO needed this flu/winter season. Additionally, my favourite thing about the soup from Ms. Gwen’s is that it is not too salty, unlike so many chicken soups around.Though there are other items on the menu, these are the only items I cycle through each time I go there, as I REALLY like what I like.In closing, each time I eat from Gwen’s, I feel as though I am back home on the island of Jamaica. “Listen! As someone born and raised in NYC where we have some of the best Caribbean restaurants outside of the Caribbean, this food is really good! I’ve tried a few places since moving to GA and while they were good, they didn’t taste like authentic Caribbean food that I’m used to eating all my life. This place makes authentic food, with great flavor. I had the large curry goat meal with roti on the side. As well as beef & jerk chicken patties. They also give good portions, the large was 2 meals for me. I’m so happy this place is like 12 mins away from me. I will definitely be a repeat customer!“
“Oh my goodness, I love Milo's. I have been in so many times that they know exactly what I want. The food is awesome and the service is impeccable. I usually order two brown stew chicken with steamed rice, cabbage and no plantains dinners. I get the oxtails with steamed rice cabbage and no plantains for my husband. My daughter loves the curry goat with steamed rice and plantains. Whatever you order, I am sure you will love it. By the way, it's mostly takeout.“
“Food was great! My husband is Jamaican and I got him the oxtail and he said it was one of the he ever had. I had the jerk chicken and stew chicken - both were great too!! Staff working there were super friendly! Wish I’d live closer and I’d be a regular!“
“Omg this food is soooooooooooooooooooooo good!! I always get the jerk chicken, but this time, I tried the brown stew fish, and it was !!????? I had rice & peas and plantains with it. The women behind the counter were all really sweet and the one lady was so patient with explaining the different fish recipes to me because I didn't know what some things were since I'm not Jamaican, Lol. I loved my food and the dessert I tried (bread pudding cake). I am stuffed and really happy with the fact that I tried something different! I will definitely give this place more business!! ??“
“So, I ate here for the first time yesterday and I was NOT disappointed! I did not expect to be since this was a Caribbean restaurant however, I hate to know that we do not have one in my city. My experience was truly wonderful! The owner took our order, and remembered every single thing all 10 of us ordered without a notepad. Moments later, our food was brought out and it was absolutely delicious! I gave this review five stars, but I would have gave more, if I could. “I'm damn near an hour away and I'd still make the drive back! The Guava passionfruit juice will bless every crack and crevice of your soul chile. I could make the drive for that alone. I can't wait to taste everything else. They have so much to offer and the plate size is pretty decent for the price. I got the brown stew chicken, rice and peas and cabbage. The cabbage was so tender, the flavors are immaculate and almost addicting. The customer service is also wonderful! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. If you have questions or you're curious about the menu, they'll gladly help you. The inside is nice, trust me, you'll definitely come back for more.“
