“Not sure how this place has a 3.5 rating, unless the food taste is inconsistent. Best oxtail I’ve had in years. I visited from out of town and had the goat soup, chicken roti and oxtail rice and peas and cabbage. Everything was delicious. If you’re looking at reviews, disregard that rating because my experience was not a 3.5 experience.“

“It was Friend Day Out and Mobay Spice was the restaurant of choice. I’m so glad it’s in the Toco Hills Plaza as there is ample parking… Upon walking in, the space is very quaint. There is a nice vibe to the overall ambiance and the overall feel is very inviting and pleasant. After taking in the ambiance we headed to the table for 4 as it is a seat yourself type of setup. Though the space isn’t wide, they did a great job with positioning the table and chairs to ensure you don’t feel crowded. Our waitress greeted us with a warm welcome and menus as soon as we sat down. As I am a lover of Jamaican Food, I was super excited at all the classic offerings and intrigued by such offerings as the Jerk Burger… say whaaaaaaaat! As the waitress arrived back a few moments later, perfect timing I might add I was ready to order. I ordered a Beef Patty as my appetizer and the Jerk Salmon Entree. I swapped out the potatoes that come with the entree for the rice and peas. As we were waiting for our food, the music kept us upbeat and made for such a dope space of engagement. All of the staff who encountered us smiled and spoke which was such a great service experience. Kudos to the team. Once the food came it was an immediate OhMyGosh Moment! The plating was beautiful and the food looked Bombbbbbbb. Beef Patty - classic patty. The meat was well seasoned. The crust was flaky and buttery. The quality of the meat was spot on and there wasn’t any fat or gristle. Very good dish and perfect pick for an appetizer. Jerk Salmon - Two Words… More Please!!!!! The salmon was meaty and moist. It was perfectly grilled without being dry or overdone. The Jerk sauce wasn’t overpowering and allowed for the fish to still be the draw while holding its own. The flavor profile of the seasoning used on the fish paired well with the flavor excitement of the jerk sauce. Furthermore, the jerk sauce wasn’t too spicy as it allowed for you to truly enjoy and savor the flavors presented. Rice and Peas - One Word… FRESH!!!! I mean a different level of freshness. The rice tasted like freshly cooked rice. The peas were authentic and perfectly done. The combination of them as one was moutpleasingly outstanding. Again, neither outshined the other. Each of them held their own and they were married together so well. Great flavor and again, amazing freshness. Steamed Cabbage - Ooh Chile! This cabbage was different. I think it’s the way it was shredded or something because babeeeeeeeeee. This was some of the best cabbage I have had in my whole life. Fresh. Seasoned. Not too hard. Not too soft. And the peppers just put what was already great even greater. I literally had to stop my waitress and tell her to tell the waiter he showed awffffffff with this. LoL!!!! As you can tell, my Mombay Spice experience was amazing. Not only will I be back, I already know what I’m going to order. 😂😂😂😂😂“

“I'd give them 5 stars but the collards didn't hit like I'd like and the biggest oxtails had more fat than meat. But excellent portions, the flavor was on point. They were even nice to me. The collards even though not as Black American in flavor you could tell the weren't from a can. And they only had beef patties. They gave me the extra gravy I asked for but barely needed, I used it for the collards. I'll be back! Don't change the portions.

UPDATE: Somebody's mom came in and completely changed the collards! They are now fire 🔥 🔥 too!“

“Had lunch here today and it was amazing ! The Mac & Cheese was fabulous and the staff is very attentive. The chocolate chip cookies are like no other I’ve ever tasted ! They’re open Fri, Sat & Sun this week and adding Thursday next week. A fabulous addition to the Alpharetta food scene for sure! The patio is beautiful too. Highly recommend!“

“I had a wonderful Bahamian server who was especially kind as she took my order. We ordered oxtail pasta and I took advantage of the crab leg special. The dishes were amazing! They even give you gloves for the mess you are going to make. I will need a plastic bib for the next time I go with crab legs simply because they are so good but make a MESS! “First time here. Usually I’ll go to a Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant, and the pans be all burned, food doesn’t look appetizing, and I’ll be scared to eat it. But Suncity has proved me wrong. Very clean, wonderful staff, and even thru this COVID mess, it wasn’t a long wait. “It was my first time trying it yesterday I read the reviews and decided to order. When he answered the phone he was very polite, and took my order with professionalism. I went and picked up my food when I walked in once again, he was very polite which is refreshing at a Jamaican restaurant. His customer service is top tier and I will be a regular from now on. The food!!! Omggggg best Oxtails I ever had and I snuck n ate some of my bfs Brown Stew Chicken and it is easily the best I e ever had as well thank u and I WILL be back the beef patty and coco bread was fire too even the cabbage was crazy!!! “I LOOOOOVEEEE THEIR FOOD! The jerk chicken is absolutely AMAZING! ITS THE BEST JERK IVE EVER HAD! The flavors will make your taste buds explode! I've been eating from here for the last 3 years and I've never been disappointed! The owners are always nice and the patties and plantains are delicious! These people have the BEST sweet plantains, I've been to other places and nothing compares!

“Ok so I was searching google to find a tasty Jamaican restaurant in Decatur because it's more filling and tastier than fast food! I found C&B. They have 4.2 on google which isn't bad. I order the j*** tacos and fries!! So the tacos have Cilantro (which I love) cheese, onions and tomatoes! I also had a beef pattie and a pineapple drink (non carbonated which I appreciated too!). The taste of the tacos was pretty tasty way better than I expected and my french fries was cooked to perfection however the food was too salty!! Too much salt! I had to stop short of eating that last taco and fries because of the salt. I recommend using sea salt instead of regular table salt. My drink was good. It gets pretty busy here, so when you order, expect to wait because they are constantly cooking everything fresh to order! The owner and her family are very sweet people so please be patient with them if your order isn't ready in 10 minutes!“
