And, Estrellita was just that for me.Honestly, I make the best adobo ever lol!!!However, I am really happy with Estrellita's adobo. I like it spicy so I asked for some sliced chilis to toss in my bowl instead of hot sauce. My best friend said that the pork sinigang soup was the bomb and soothed his hangover! We each got a Filipino BBQ add on and all I kept picturing in my head was being drunk in 1996 and eating one of these skewers from a street vendor in the streets of Manila. So good - So nostalgic - So Filipino. The Filipino Red Horse beer and Filipino Tanduay rum shot was strong and necessary! I might as well have been in the Philippines for real... Last but not least, the Ube bunt cake with Ube liqeur drizzle by Sweet Cheats was lusciously delicious and complemented the whole meal. “Went here on a Friday evening for dinner, arrived a bit after our reservation time but they were really accommodating. They have two dining rooms and we were in the back one with the bar. Ambiance was great (playlist had exclusively bangers) and the windows being open means we could appreciate the weather Drink menu was extensive and very good. Food was excellent. We started with the lamb skewers and then got the duck risotto and ramp pappardelle. Both were excellent. Overall a great experience totally worth the Michelin guide recommendation“

“I arrived in the morning on an international flight and took stock of my food and wine options.Most of the offerings in the Atlanta airport seem pretty much chain garbage and no good wine offerings. One Flew South fit the bill. I had the breakfast rice bowl (poached eggs, mushroom, kimchi etc.) with a glass of white burgundy. It hit the spot and the service was very friendly. Also, it was a chill vibe l inside which gave me a chance to mentally reset from the hustle and bustle outside. I'm glad I took a minute to find this place.“

They were clearly more interested in serving the regulars and one of the bar tenders told me that I don't have to only order with her but I could order from anyone behind the bar. Oh, and the pitas are fresh baked and not really like normal hard cardboard ones - these are fluffy and tasty. But don’t get me started on the cookies!! They had two kind that they made in house. The sesame one had tahini in it reminding me a little but of halvah but yummy and super crumbly in your mouth. The chocolates ones did not make it home :)Go. Try it.“

The food came out surprisingly quickly, I imagine that they're used to serving people with not a lot of time. The food was good! The noodles were a little more spicy than I was expecting and very enjoyable. I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again.“

“I ordered a regular poke bowl and Miso soup tonight for dinner and I’m so impressed with the entire experience from a to z. The soup was tasty, not salty and had the appropriate amount of greens and a generous amount of tofu. The poke was excellent. I got salmon and tuna as my protein and both were fresh. I watched as the avocado was prepared and the other ingredients were fresh as well. The only suggestion I’d give is for a yum yum sauce option although the seasonal pineapple sauce option was delicious. I’m so glad we have this fresh, healthy, price conscious option available. The current Google rating of 4.8 is well deserved!Parking: There is limited parking but the spaces seem to turn over quickly. Parking is available for free nearby or in the post office if after hours there.“

“My husband and I visited here on my birthday, 11/29/22 and it was still the amazing food I remembered from years ago. People come for lunch from nearby businesses and also from the military post. Back in the day (80's & 90's) when the Ft. Mac & Gillum were fully open, the solidiers frequented more than anybody!“

“Barrio ATL is an entire VIBEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I ended up here on a Thursday. I was in the Cascade area and in the mood for tacos. After a search on Yelp Barrio ATL popped up and was where we headed for the night. As a heads up, Barrio ATL sits in the corner of the strip plaza. As such, the parking can be a bit tight so be sure to choose a space accordingly. Upon walking in, the ambiance puts you in the mindset of a trendy hookah lounge. Wall seating, chairs, and tables are to the left, and a VIP area style is to the right. The DJ is directly to the left of the VIP area and the bar area is to the left of the DJ. The building is medium-sized and build rectangular so there is ample length as compared to the width. There was no one at the Hostess booth when I walked in, however, the young lady got up from one of the tables in the back, greeted me, and quickly took us to our table. Once seated, the waitress assigned to our table came over and was super nice and welcoming. She introduced herself as Shay and went over the specials for the night. As the ambiance is more than just a casual bar, Shay’s service was superior. Her personality shined and she enhanced the overall experience of the night. Thank you, Shay! Based on the specials for the night I decided to go with the 3 Chicken Birriia Tacos for $9 (this was a great deal as they are usually $20) and a side of fries. As they didn’t have Sweet Tea on the menu I ordered a bottle of water. Shout out to Barrio ATL for serving Fiji. Ha. Babeeeeeeeeee… Here me when I tell you… I don’t know what kind of potatoes these fries were made with but they were the BOMBBBBBBBB. They were thick, perfectly fried, golden to perfection, and well seasoned. For the record, I would go back for the fries alone. LoL! The birria tacos were good as well. As this was my first time having them I don’t have anything to compare them to, however, I enjoyed the experience. The crunchiness of the taco shell with the well-seasoned chicken. The birria consomé was well seasoned and definitely enhanced the flavor of the taco, as such, for my first birria experience I enjoyed it. Furthermore, if the chicken was this good, I can’t wait to try the beef. Overall Barrio ATL is def one to add to the checklist when you are looking for a vibe. The DJ was on point, the ambiance was hittin like it needed to be, and the overall flow of the environment was ideal for a kick it/unwind/grab a drink type of vibe.“

“Allow me to set the mood! It’s Hoopz last night in Atlanta before moving back to Seattle. As such, I wanted something close to his area, good, and that I had never tied before. Naturally I end up on Yelp performing a search and Boom! I stumbled across Argosy. Though I have been in this area numerous times, I have never noticed Argosy. However, tonight was the night… I was excited as the restaurant has its own private lot. Woo Hoo! Anyone who knows the area can’t attest that parking is not the best when it comes to available spaces. Once parked, we headed inside. Argosy is humongous. I’m talking super big covered patio area in the front, when you walk through that space to get to the main area, the inside is HUGE as well. The setup has your organic local bar feel and is musically vibrant and upbeat. Upon walking in we were seated within moments. The table setup makes good use of the space as you don’t feel crowded at all. We were a party of 2 and the tables next to us were a party of 10 and we both had ample space. As I looked over the menu, this is the traditional bar food menu with the Argosy twist. This makes for a limited selection to choose from, however, there is at least one traditional favorite of each food element in the menu. Our server arrived at the table within moments, welcomed us to the venue and took our drink orders. She was very pleasant and displayed a joyous smile. After a few moments of burger vs. fries, I decided to get the Wings and Fries and babeeeeeeeeeee. These wings were amazing. The wings come in a sauce I have never had before, and now that I have had it, I want to continue having it. It’s like a Buffalo style sauce not too spicy, with an Argosy taste twist to them. As far as the French fries… Hear me clearly. The art of a Homemade fry is not something everyone can execute well. However, Argosy has discovered the ART of fry making. The fries are crunchy on the outside, however, soft and fluffy on the inside. Furthermore, the fries are lightly salted which brings out the authentic taste of the potato. To make it even better, the fries aren’t too oily or overly greasy. Though I loved my wings, the French fries stole the night!! All in all, I will be back at Argosy soon as I MUST try the burger next.“

Good halal wings are hard to come by but Rahim really delivers. I have ordered Honey BBQ, Garlic Parm, Lemon Pepper, and Hot. Honey BBQ really hits the spot for me!
