“Have been on the island for a couple of years now, coming from the East Coast, and had been missing good Jamaican food, and this place did not disappoint. Service was courteous and kind, restaurant is clean and when I went during the lunch hour, it was easily accessible with decent amount of parking in front of the restaurant and along the street. “I went to several great poke places during my trip to Hawaii, and this one was by far the best. The salad was fresh and the dressing was delicious. They say they don't use frozen fish, so the tuna sashimi was so fresh and the seasoning was perfect, making it the best. Even my 11-year-old son enjoyed it very much!

We ordered the Tonkatsu curry plate and a spicy ahi don. If you check in on yelp, you get free 6 piece chicken karaage. Customer service was excellent and the food came out fast. Tonkatsu was super crunchy and went well with the curry. The spicy ahi was perfectly seasoned on a bed of lettuce. The sushi rice came on the side. The chicken karaage was crunchy and tasty too. I’ll definitely be back for more.“

“I only found out about Wai Kai a month ago after a friend bought a condo nearby. Since that time, my family and I have been back numerous times to eat at all of their restaurants and attend their Farmer's market. All of the food is outstanding which is why we even went back twice in one day to eat at 2 of their restaurants. They have amazing staff from their manager, Keith, their cooks, and their waiters and waitresses. This place is a hidden gem because it's a family friendly place that has the atmosphere of Waikiki without the crime or crowds. Both kids and adults can come and have a great time whether it's doing a water sport, eating in one of their excellent restaurants, or relaxing on their lawn during the Farmer's market where they have a wide variety of food and local products to choose from.“

“Best Noodle Spot on the Island (Hidden Gem)

I found Joy Cup Noodles while searching for a place that served Dan Dan noodles, and my goodness, these were the best noodles I have had since coming back from Japan. Every bite had that perfect balance of flavor, spice, and texture that brought me right back to the authentic noodles you get overseas.

My girlfriend ordered the beef noodles, and they were just as incredible. The beef was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was our server, Michael. He went above and beyond from start to finish. He never rushed us, was genuinely kind, and even surprised us with complimentary ice cream and hot tea after our meal.

I also have to mention the coconut juice. They serve it in a real coconut with a straw, and it does not get fresher than that. After I finished drinking it, Michael came back and opened it for me so I could eat the coconut meat inside. That small detail made the experience even more memorable.

To top it all off, they have free karaoke and a huge screen, which makes it an amazing spot for date nights or groups. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the food options are endless. It will take many visits to try everything this place has to offer.

Overall, Joy Cup Noodles is easily one of the best dining experiences I have had in Hawaii. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all perfect. Ask for Michael, order the Dan Dan noodles, get some coconut juice, and thank me later.“

The owner was really heartbroken because he said he's been here for 20 years. They moved near Safeway Kapahulu: please support them there.
