I’m used to food prices being high in The Islands, and though the food was good, the burger was very petite, and the onion rings were left in the deep fryer a bit too long. Still it was fun to revisit. Just wish they had a restroom on site.”

There is an outdoor seating in a beautiful garden space, but it was a drizzly morning and most people were taking their coffee to go. It seems to be a popular with locals — the few people we chatted with in line live in the area. There was a steady stream of people; I’d call it busy but not crowded and the barista served us all at a steady paced that felt efficient. He acknowledged everyone as they walked up and didn’t seem too bothered when I asked a couple questions about the plants in the seating area. I was careful to only ask two questions since he was busy and I can talk a lot! 😅

Overall the atmosphere felt friendly and relaxed and I wish I’d had an opportunity to come back during my trip.”

“Absolutely solid tacos. I had the fish tacos and the tuna tostadas—everything was delicious. The fish tasted super fresh, and the tacos came out hot, which made them even better. Crushed them.
The habanero sauce is spicy but really good if you’re into heat. Also super filling—definitely leaves you satisfied. Overall, a really solid choice for tacos on the island. Tons of flavor and worth checking out.”

“If you’re looking for an authentic Hawaiian luau in Kauai, the Smith Family Luau is as authentic as it gets. Don’t let the name fool you. This is a multi generational Hawaiian family luau. You’re welcomed into beautiful, lush gardens, and arriving early is a must to enjoy the scenery, trolley ride, native birds, and animals. My kids especially loved feeding the ducks.

The food was excellent. Everything was ono (my only complaint was eating too much!). The evening ends with an incredible show that truly showcases Hawaiian culture.

Why go to a stuffy hotel luau when you can enjoy stunning gardens, authentic food, an amazing performance, and generations of experience? Hands down the best family experience we had in Kauai.”

“Saw this place listed online as a contender for best shave ice. I stopped in and got some. I actually enjoyed it more than Wishing Well (still way good), and it blew Wailua Shave Ice out of the water. The gentleman who helped me was a delight to talk to and tidy store. Would definitely recommend to anybody coming by.”

“I have had a lot of pizza as it is one of my favorite foods. I even have my own pizza oven I cook my own. This is easily in my top 3 pizzas of all time. The base was amazing with good leoparding on the bottom. The crust had some great crispy crust. They are just 🤌🏼! I got the Kauai Beef Short Rib, and the toppings were just spectacular! Plus either the owner or one of the cooks has perfect music tone as well. Seriously cannot recommend this place enough!”

“Chef Judy provided incredible service and a delicious, beautiful cake at our recent wedding. She went above and beyond, ensuring our wedding was perfect, helping us develop a backup plan on such short notice when our reception venue/food fell through last minute.

Our guests are still raving about the coconut cream filling. She was also very accomodating for several food allergies. Her attention to detail allowed us to focus on enjoying our special day. Thank you once again for everything!”

“Went to hukilau for 37th wedding anniversary. Oct 15. Was dying for prime rib. Didn’t care about price I wanted Prime rib so so bad. All we get here on Kauai is choice. There is no fat in the meat no marbling and you can’t cut it with a fork. You have to slice every bite. That is choice. And if you’re good with that. Then the rib is great. It was cooked perfectly. But I wanted the prime rib. Prime has fat all thru it and so tender the meat falls apart. Little pieces of fat around the edges and you can see the marbling in the center. I actually asked the waitress what was on my plate (which I have never ever done before) and she said it was prime she even went to the chef to check. He too said it was prime. I have cooked a lot of prime rib in my lifetime so I feel like I know what talking about but I felt like I was being blown off like an unknowing tourist. All I know is that my meat did not look anything like what is in the photo of their prime rib on the website with photos of their menu. Love this place otherwise. Been going there for 30 years. Incredibly nice waithelp and an incredible view for a romantic evening.”

“This are by far the best tacos we’ve had in the island. We tried the pastor ones, asada and mahi mahi and they were very good. The green salsa they had went great with the asada tacos. We are Mexicans and know about real tacos so we really recommend this place.”
