“We stopped by the booth at the Friday night market in Hilo. We tried the pecan sandies cookies, the decadent chocolate cupcakes, the Mexican brownies and the carrot cake cupcakes and omg they were all delicious! More than ample sizes for the price as well. I’ve found a great place for my sweet cravings!“

“I have there 4 times and never disappointed. I’ve tried different dishes and they are the best Thai food. The chef even came to my table and asked if my dish was to my satisfaction as they made a special sauce as I was a vegan.“

“Really tasty dinner. Got the curry, brown rice, and cashew chicken. Felt like they were really watered down which also kept the flavors from being as strong which was disappointing because I did appreciated the spice.
Also asked for hot and felt it was more of a mild. Worth going to nonetheless“

“Had lunch here 2/3 days that we were in Hilo, everything was amazing. The Misoyaki Butterfish Salad was fresh and extremely flavorful without being heavy, and the fish melts like butter in your mouth. We also had a cold water scallop special, an eggplant /marinara/pesto/ricotta appetizer (forgot what it's called, oops!) and crab cakes. Everything was great, honestly one of the best places I've eaten at on the entire island. I like to sit at the bar, as I'm a former long time bartender. Sascha is one of the best around, cocktails were, again, among the best that I found on the island, including Kona. Service was top notch, no matter how busy he got, and he took extra time to modify one of the house cocktails so that an elderly gal with sensitive teeth sitting nearby could enjoy it. I would honestly make the drive from Waikoloa just for this, but Hilo has plenty of outdoor activities to offer as well.“

“This place is great in every way. We read about it in a blue guide book about the big island and stopped for smoothies and lunch after seeing some nearby caves. At first I wasn't sure if the driving directions were leading us the right way because it was definitely off the beaten path, but they lead us right to this hidden gem. The smoothies were the best we've ever had, no doubt. The options for the wraps looked very tasty and fresh as well. Also, the staff was very friendly and service is incredible. I made a mistake when placing our order and they went way above and beyond to help us out, to an extent I can't recall from any other restaurant I've ever been to. They really care about the customer and the quality of their food. Highly recommend stopping by, and we'll definitely do the same again when heading back to the big island. Thanks What's Shakin'!“

“Jasmine and her Heartbeet Catering team at Pu'uwai Gardens were outstanding. They acted as hosts for our wedding reception and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The food and venue were both incredible. Their team kept us on track throughout the night and acted as pseudo- day of planners. The team was incredibly responsive and patient with us as we made decisions about food, timing, and other vendors. They provided advice and answered all questions we had to help us create the perfect experience for us for our intimate wedding. We appreciated that everything could be handled in house by the Heartbeet/Pu'uwai team. They handled the bartending, cake cutting, servers, cleanup, and joined in some of the dancing! Plus, the food was INCREDIBLE. We had two kids, under 10, who can be picky, but they ate everything on offer! A true testament to delicious options that were curated for our event. We opted for family style, for our small group, and an extra protein because we couldn't decide on just one! The family style serving option helped us all feel at home, we loved it. Pu'uwai Gardens held a beautiful backdrop for the evening, including the covered area for eating and dancing, that included cute lighting, and the build in covered bar- stunning. The land and tress were also beautiful, as was the view of the water. The Heartbeet/Pu'uwai team overdelivered for our day and we are so grateful to have chosen them to host our reception.“
