Daya, the owner, is attentive and mellow, contributing to the great vibes and making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind. He pounds the ‘awa root himself and is meticulous about its care, cultivation, and use. Daya is very knowledgeable and passionate about his kava, making it on site even from smashing down the root. He lets you sample before you buy and explains the process for making your own kava. The kava is some of the strongest kava tried, with good quality kava available for $50/lb.

I wandered in looking for some authentic island kava and I wasn’t disappointed. Does Daya sound confident? Sure. But it’s because the guy knows his stuff.

I walked about with a blend of what I think is a good combo of heavy/heady kava but I was more impressed I could stand to drink it. I hate the taste of kava.

I really appreciated meeting Daya. He pounds the ‘awa root himself and is meticulous about its care, cultivation, and use. He helped me find ‘awa that would be appropriate for a couple of ceremony that we have coming up and I am very grateful for that. We had a very nice and meaningful conversation and I hope to be back sooner rather than later.
