“I live on the Big Island with limited creative food options. Any time I’m in Honolulu, I love to go out to eat and explore cuisine. Ruscello has been so satisfying for me every single time. I’m sincerely impressed, and I consider myself a bit of a snob about food and drink when I’m in the mood.

What impresses me most is the quality and consistency of execution, especially for Honolulu, which is often over-priced or overly gimmicky in approach from a creative stand point. The flavors are creative and delicious. The portions are spot on. The service is prompt, professional and courteous (not pretentious). The cocktails are great — fun and interesting — so much so that I don’t mind the $18 price tag at all. The atmosphere is modern and chic but very comfortable. And the cost is extremely reasonable for what you get. Case in point: I’m eating the lunch special right now. It’s a sumptuous, filling braised beef sandwich with a lovely salad. $22! That’s less than what I pay for a mediocre poke plate in Hilo served in a to go container.

As I write this, I realize this is my favorite restaurant on O’ahu. I’ve worked in food and beverage for nearly 20 years. My coffee business supplies the top resorts in Hawai’i, so I’ve had plenty of exposure to the “best” food and beverage in the islands. The value for what you get here at Ruscello is unmatched. It’s a deal imho.

My hat is off to the team and, especially, the leadership here. Consistently well-executed establishments like this don’t happen by chance or luck. It takes a lot of vision and planning to bring this to life and deliver such consistent results. Literally nothing has been subpar for me here.

Parking: I walked this time, but since the store is inside Kakaako Salt, you can park at Salt. However, I am not sure if there is any validation ?
Since the store faces Auahi St, I think you can safely park on the street (for a fee) if there is space.“

“Solid Greek food at a reasonable price here. I got a chicken souvlaki pita with salad and a baklava. Everything was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and very flavorful, the salad dressing was super good, and I loved the baklava.

Would be awesome if the sandwich had more meat and toppings. Maybe they can offer an option to double the protein. I’ll ask next time I go. Pita bread could be a little softer too, but it was good.

Restaurant was buzzing on Saturday evening when I went. I ordered takeout at the counter and it took about 30 min. Not bad since everyone says it takes about an hour, but I’ll definitely order ahead next time!“
