The staff was is super friendly. The food is some of the best I have ever had. The experience was one of the highlights of my trip.
Overall always good. Recent visit, however the saimin was a disappointment. The noodles were gummy, there were no wontons as described on the menu, half a boiled egg, half a tomato and the broth was flavorless. Really regret ordering it seems to have changed or a bad night. Everyone else’s food was good.
We loved Eating House 1849! The grilled short ribs were outstanding—so tender and flavorful—and the blackened island tuna was absolutely delicious. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we really enjoyed the wonderful, relaxed atmosphere. It was one of our favorite dinners on Kauai! We would definitely go back and highly recommend Eating House 1849!
