“Hands down the best hole in the wall, yet not whole in wall Chinese joint ever!We always order the Beef Flank and Tendon egg noodle and hubby orders the look fun, and we add wontons! It's Heaven in a bowl! The tendon is nice and tender while the beef practically melts in your mouth...and the wontons, the wontons with a blend of chewy ground pork and pieces of shrimp round out the deliciousness of the wontons! If you get the jook, make sure to order early because they run out! We lucked out today and they still had it.And the Chinese donut....oh they make it fresh to order so it comes out piping hot and crispy! We didn't order it this time but their look fun roll is full of carbs but...but it's worth every calorie, try it, trust me. You'll be fat, but a happy fatty!I highly recommend this place, it's good and it hits the spot!“
“Stopped here for lunch based on other Google reviews and the food didn’t disappoint. A sign of a really great chow fun is when the noodles aren’t clumped together and everything is perfectly seasoned and pulled together over a hot wok. It’s an unassuming spot and out of the way from usual tourist areas but worth checking out.“
“Been here before for breakfast. I love Hong Kong set breakfast. This time we came for lunch. The noodles are very good. The broth was flavorful. I did not get swollen or thirsty after the meal. The house made chili oil had a good spice level. I was able to handle it. The milk tea is close to what I get in Hong Kong.“
“We came here while on a food tour of the area and the manapua were so good! We had 2 different ones. Definitely would recommend for a quick meal or snack! Will go back the next time we are in Oahu! Also love that this place has been around for so long!“
“This is the place to go to for Chinese food. Probably the best fried rice I’ve ever tasted. Super fresh and very tasteful. Also ordered the plum button meat and the roasted duck. Super good food. 10/10 would recommend. Best Chinese food I’ve ever had.“
“If you are in the downtown area and are not uptight with the cultured scenery, stop by Hong Kong Noodle House, located on the first floor of the Chinatown Cultural Plaza. Garage parking is paid by the hour, and is plentiful. It's unfortunate that this once busy plaza has turned into a ghost town, but thankfully the restaurants who were thriving pre-Covid are still hanging around. Hong Kong Noodle House is known for their fresh noodles, dumplings, and meats that are roasted in house. Most items we've tried were delectable, and their broth was something different, having a more 'seafood' touch. My wife's pick is the Beef Tendon & Roast Duck Noodle Soup. They cook the tendon til it's soft, gelatinous and TENDER. Definitely a must try for the adventurous souls! For me, I chose the Tossed (egg) Noodle w/Roast Duck & Vegetable (choy sum). Roast duck was flavorful, though slightly dry, and I wished the choy sum was cooked less to maintain its crunch. They tend to cook the veg til it's soft, so be warned. House made shrimp and pork dumplings had a light flavor to them; definitely not what I'm used to as far as saltiness and overall taste, but it goes well with anything you order on the menu and, of course, I had to give them a try. If you like spice, feel free to ask for some of their house made chili oil. Oh and btw, broth is served on the side for the Tossed Noodles. As for the service - the woman serving the dining room was SO HELPFUL. I'm assuming she's the owner. Aunty made sure we were happy with every dish we decided on, and she answered every question I had. She was patient, friendly, and welcoming to all who walked in as well! A true sign of appreciation to each and every patron. Interior of the restaurant, however, left much to be desired. There is no music playing to diffuse the silence, and the tablecloths appear to be from the 90's. Though the restaurant was significantly outdated, the owner seemed to keep a close eye on the tidiness and sanitation of the tables. Thumbs up for me! Downfall, unfortunately, is that they serve everything on disposables. I despise eating off paper plates and take out goods. Yes, maybe that's the cleaner or only option for their small establishment, but for me, it's just not my thing, not to mention it's so wasteful. Also, the duck was dry in my dish, but I would still go back to try other menu items. Hope you like it! :)“
“The OG cha Chaan teng place in Hawaii !If your Chinese and you lived around the area I can guarantee you eaten here, your parents eaten here, and your grandparents eaten here. With all the new ones popping up in Honolulu and how expensive they are they don't got s on kukui cafe. Only drawback is it gets really busy and they don't have much seating. My go to here is jing wonton , bacon egg sandwich , and hot milk tea or persevered lemon drink (haam ling chut). Runs me about $20. Good wok hey here for wok made stuff.“
“Four of us came here for lunch on a Wednesday, and sat right away. Food didn’t take long to come out either.Parked in one of the municipal parking structures. The Wonton soup with egg noodles was delicious, broth tasty and a good amount of noodle serving; we got this 2x. The seafood laksa was delicious, but spicy! Two pieces each of shrimp, muscles, squid and imitation crab. The shrimp omelette with black pepper sauce was also good! Don’t get the spaghetti with tomato sauce. The peanut butter French toast was so good, but small for the price of $8.99!Lunch with all these dishes and two sodas came out to just under $90. Glad we tried them out, but probably won’t return.“
“We are so lucky to have an authentic Chinatown here in Honolulu with little shops such as this who are doing it right! Succulent moist meats served on rice with a side of bok choy. You can also buy the meats by the pound to take home. I love this place. Super authentic and delicious. Very reasonably priced too. My photo shows a charsiu mini plate?“
“They have more dishes that are more closer to the authentic dim sum than other similar nearby restaurants on island only. They probably has the best Kai Lan in oyster sauce, Har Gaw and chicken feet in town. The dumpling's wrap and the lok fun's skin are all too thick. But in terms of sauce or seasoning, they are better than most of the dim sum on island.“
“Great value for the price. Everything from house specials to their ala cart selection is worth it too. Looks like their hours has changed post COVID, they are only open till 2 PM or till they run out. I highly recommend the Oyster Sauce Chicken with Cake Noodles.“
“I had their minute chicken cake noodle. Probably the best iteration of the dish I’ve had in Hawaii: delicious sauce, tender chicken, and superb quality noodles. However, the prices of their menu seem to change based on the cashier of the day. Kinda sketch.“
“Stopped in for a few to take home for brunch. Very Tasty. If you want a quick take out and well worth the price this is good. For those picky dim sum eaters (I am one of them) go to a sit-down restaurant. For what it is, it's well worth it.“
“Great food at this hole in the wall. The seafood laksa and choy sum was delicious. Deducted one star because it takes a while for the food to come out bc there's only one lady who's making the food but she's trying her best. Also the restaurant is quite cramped with limited seating. I'd come back again again to try their other dishes!“
“We were SO happy with the food we ordered for our family's Chinese New Year party. Everyone loved it (especially the duck!), and there was plenty of it. We ordered ahead from the party menu, which I highly recommend. We had about 30 people and ordered the medium size of 4 different dishes plus the large serving of duck. There was plenty of everything and leftovers :-) Also, kudos to the staff who were so kind and friendly on what had to have been a super stressful day. Great start to year of the dragon! I would call them again for a party in a heartbeat.“
“Great food and ok service. The dim sum is fresh and hot. They no longer have the carts coming around, but being whatever you need when you order. Good value for money.Parking: Parking available in private parking lot right across the street. You have to scan a QR code and pay using your mobile phone.“
“This review is strictly based on my single visit for char siu manapuas. I had a hankering for a good manapua and found this gem by Don Quixote. I tried both the steamed and baked char siu manapua and they were both lovely. Between the two, I thought the steamed manapua was much more enjoyable. I will say there wasn't a lot of filling, but I was satisfied. Also, the char siu was a bit sweeter than I would've preferred. Still, a solid option for manapua and char siu fans. Fairly priced. The real star of this local business was the woman who helped me inside. I regret not having gotten her name but she was sweet and kind. She helped me navigate through my choices and was very patient.“
“Don't make my same mistake.Drove past this place for years. It's not that "Elite". It's reasonable. It's just a huge Chinese Restaurant with a BIG NAME. ??We had a big family party. OG staff will take care of you. Wheelchair accessibility: ??“
“Ok... what a surprise. Haven't been here for years. My grandparents used to always meet us there. The place was upgraded and looked so clean. The are umbrellas hanging from the ceiling in a decorative way. The interior design was done nicely and modern. It felt comfortable to be in. Our family ordered a bunch of the regular Chinese food like shrimp canton, fried rice, cake noodle and other stuff. They also have a sushi bar, so that stuff was ordered as well. Leaving a very happy and context OHana of 10. We have been there a few more times after that.“
“When in town since we live on the Westside this is our go to Chinese food place. We like to go early to avoid crowds so service is pretty quick. Our waitress who I believe was tending to the opening of the place was preoccupied so had to request for our rice since the main dish was served, waited a bit for our won ton soup. So based on the flavor of the food will still continue to go. The place was clean and comfortable and spacious enough for other customers to move around if need be...Wheelchair accessibility: One stall 1st come 1st served“
