Their focus may not always be on the lowest prices, but they have a better selection and higher quality product than some cheaper stores. They're not overpriced, just maybe not the lowest. “Shout out to the Manager at the Panera Bread, north Ankeny. I ordered lunch for both my husband and myself off the kiosk. When we were alerted to pick it up, they just had my husband’s order at the kitchen counter. I asked if my soup was ready and they didn’t have it on the order. The kitchen just dished up a bowl and gave it to me along with the drink I thought I had ordered. I returned to the main counter and explained that I owed them for a bowl of soup and drink. The manager at the register said, “not today, it’s your lucky day”. I will be returning to this location for the kindness both the kitchen staff and manager displayed. Thank you!“

“We live in Ankeny, but very often drive to the Johnston Panera to enjoy our weekly coffee/pastry date. This location is obviously managed well. It is always clean and the pastries are not over baked. The coffee bar is also always clean as is the microwave. Coffee is always fresh and if it isn't they immediately bring out a fresh pot. Also this location seems to be well staffed! Our compliments to the management and staff of this Johnston location! Well done!“

“these wonderful kids are always quick on their feet and great at conversation, coming here makes my day and they always make the coffee super quick. I've been tricked by those fake AI drinks so many times but they were super polite and respectful when pointing out to me how there are certain things they can and cant do, and how they could accommodate me to get as close as they could to my drink. I don't recommend using the facebook pages for the drinks! the 7brew has a lot of secret menu flavors and a bunch of syrups! good variety! I didn't have to wait more than 2 minutes and got on my way, the conversation lasted the entire time and I didn't even notice! great job!“
