“Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! While in Ankeny today, we wanted to try something new. We went completely blind with our choice as it just happened to be near by. WOW!!! It seriously now is our favorite Mexican restaurant! We were greeted right away, and noticed when walking to our table how clean the restaurant is and impressed with the open kitchen! The service was TOP NOTCH! Delicious food. Great prices on lunch menu, plus still left with leftovers to have tonight. HIGHLY recommend! It is nearly an hour from our home, however we will be back often!!! R“

“We have eaten at the Guadalajara weekly for almost 4 years now. Everyone is so friendly, the food is amazing every time, and the margaritas are fantastic. Great customer service, fantastic staff, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely recommend eating at any Guadalajara locations, but we love our Ankeny Guad 🫶🏼“

“I highly recommend this place. I have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in iowa for the past 4 years. “This is one of the best taquerias in Des Moines,, hands down!l everything was fresh and made to order, didn’t seem like the meat had been in warmers, everything was perfectly crispy.Make sure to ask for the avocado salsa! Every Friday birria tacos are 1.50- 2.00 with cheese! You also get jalapeño cucumber and radish with your tacos, no one does that anymore,!“

“Absolutely delicious !The presentation and aroma...the singe on the asada...the chorizo along with Verde and Rojo sauce absolutely ?I will 100% be back !I always like to start off with the carne asada tacos because if you can't get that right than I don't wanna do business. I always go at least on sauced up and one as is and all was delicious!!Something a little different is the cheese on these. Normally I don't find cheese in the street tacos...and it was ?Even the tortillas are on point, not falling apart.Check out the pictures of the Taco Truck Traveler and Eating with Alabaster !“

“Currently, this is my absolute favorite restaurant in Iowa. They have the tastiest shrimp cocktail and my favorite are the shrimp empanadas from the appetizer section of the menu. My husband loves virtually anything they serve. I can overlook that it isn't fancy and sometimes the service is a little uncoordinated when you end up with such amazing food. I see the people in the kitchen looking like they are working so hard and from the heart. Now, if you want a good laugh, I ate here ten years ago for my first time and it took me nine years before I ever would consider returning. I ordered paella with the extra $1 charge if I wanted the seafood all out of the shell instead of me doing it myself. I was eating away while in deep conversation with my family, enjoying my food, when I bit down on some random large piece of a broken shell buried in the paella. I got up and ran to the bathroom and had to spit out the shells and unfortunately parts of six of my broken teeth! So, if you order any dish with the promise of the seafood all taken from its shell; still be careful!“

“my daughter and I stumbled upon this neat place today. she has the classic burger with a side of fresh fruit and she loved it. I had the grinder with a side of amazing tomato bisque soup. we shared some tasty chicken loaded nachos and will definitely be making the 45 minute drive again very soon. our waitress was a lovely lady named Tatum(I cannot remember how your name is spelled,I'm so sorry). she was rocking the bar and taking orders all by herself. she constantly made sure we were doing ok. 10/10🤟“

“I try to make Taco Tuesday for beef tacos on fried tortillas. Super great deal! When I visit on the off days, the Cowboy Fries are the second best. My oldest daughter likes the Cheese Quesadilla, middle child the Bacon Breakfast Burrito and wife the Chicken Quesadilla.“

“This place is the best Mexican restaurant in town. We order skinny margaritas and they make them fresh in front of us.. SO GOOD. They have the best fresh guac, and the best grilled shrimp tacos I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the steak tacos and he hasn’t found a place that makes them better! Highly suggest! Service is 10/10!!!“
