“I don’t think you guys realize how hard it is to work fast food. A lot of you are so quick to have bad reviews or leave small stars. They have new owners now, everytime I come in here it’s great! Everyone here is so sweet to me & they work really hard, I used to work fast food & not everyone is good with a rush, you guys get so upset whenever you have to wait for long, yes it’s called “fast food” but when they have so many people coming in with only two workers, that isn’t always possible. “This is a local, family run sandwich shop. Mekong doesn't have a full menu, but if you want the best bahn mi sandwich in Des Moines for just $5, this is your spot. They take cash or venmo, and the waiting area has National Geographic mags from 2019. Highland Park is an amazing and diverse area with gems like this.“

“They are trying new hours out at this store, so the app isn't staying up to date, but we were lucky enough to have Steven as our Sandwich Artist as when the app failed us he came to our rescue and saved the day. “I stop at this location frequently because my route takes me by this place. I have never had a bad experience and the staff is always very friendly and do a great job. I stopped in the other night and they were cleaning up for the night and the staff wasn't rude to me at all being they were closing soon. They made my sandwich the way I wanted and everything still tasted very fresh. I can't speak for all the bad reviews but I can tell you this Subway is on top of their game and the staff have always been very friendly to me. Stop in and I promise you won't be disappointed.“
