42 Best Pizza Restaurants in Des Moines

“The service was amazing. The place was clean and decorated so cool. Options to buy by the slice or order off the menu. Outside and inside seating. We had the Chinese moz sticks and the loaded potato pizza and both were SO fire! If we ever come back to town we will definitely be back!“

“I have been coming here for many many years! Simon, the owner is absolutely incredible and done such a great job with this restaurant. The customer service is out of this world. But everything from the drinks, the food and dessert you cannot go wrong here. They only take reservations for parties of six or more. It is a very small intimate place. And it is 100% busy! 😁 well most of the time. This is a great local restaurant and whenever someone suggest anything around the area, I say go here!“

“Love Truman’s! They hosted us last night for my birthday celebration and they did not disappoint. They never do! The food alone is delicious, their menu has something for everyone, plus some unique pizzas that I have tried to replicate. (Theirs was better 😉) Their service is always great too. Friendly staff, always helpful, and the dude who hosted our party of 26 last night was awesome and made sure we all had a great experience and had what we needed throughout our time there. Thanks for helping make my celebration so special Truman’s! I’ll be back soon!“

“We recently moved to Ankeny & drive by every day. Parking lot is always full, so we finally made it in. Wow! So good! Sat outside and we had chicken deburgo, chicken Romano and a grinder. All amazing and the young man who was our server was spot on!! Will definitely be back!“

“I’ve worked with Evan and his staff the last couple years to get pizza for Centennial boys’ tennis team meals. They have been amazing to work with and very accommodating, even with weather related changes to the scheduled meals. The pizza has been delicious and the boys love it. The 26 inch pizzas are awesome for feeding large groups. I would highly recommend Dough Co in Ankeny!“

“We heard many good things about their Pie…we were in town & decided to stop…we ordered a 1/2 & 1/2 & both choices were excellent…our waitress as well was very friendly & never missed a beat…we will definitely be a return customer!…“

“Nice people great pizza very clean“

“On December 20th, 2025, at 6:58pm, I ordered a large hawiaan pizza and two orders of breadsticks for delivery. I was told 1 to 1 and a half hours at 1 hour 50 minutes I called to find out where our food was. I was told that they tried to deliver our food but were unable to deliver our order but they could not do so. I then asked why it was unable to be delivered and "the manager" stated that they tried to call me, no one ever did call me and I can prove it. The "manager" could not provide a reason the order was undeliverable. I then told them that my husband would be coming to pick it up and that they needed to make it right by refunding part of our order NOT all just part of it for the inconvience (not being nasty at all). The "manager" stated "I am canceling your order. Go somewhere else." When asked why he said "You are being rude." I told him he had poor customer service skills and hung up. My husband and I ended up going to the Altoona Northern lights and they went above and beyond for us. I will always go to the Altoona store over Hubbell. I highly recommend that you do not go to this store unless you want to be treated like crap.“

“This might be the greatest place I’ve ever been. I’m not kidding….“

“Great food and staff. I have been coming here pretty much my whole life and it’s always been great.“

“first time there. I spent New Year’s eve night there. Fantastic food great drinks great service great people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I think jay is his name. Great bartender. All I know is if you haven’t gone…you’re missing out!“

“GoodSons on Beaver Ave is the quintessential neighborhood bar. Have a seat, and you're surrounded by friends. Nice rotation on the taps, including many local brews, and a plentiful selection of cocktail options. The food is a delectable selection of paninis and bar favorites. Come in, have a seat, you are welcome!!“

“Was visiting town for the weekend and got delivery. The hotel was hard to find but the driver called and we got it sorted. And I'm glad we did because this was the best pizza I've ever had. Top notch! The supreme pizza lived up to its name!“

“We stopped here quickly on our drive through the city. Food was quite good and also reasonably priced. Restaurant looked clean, and service was friendly. Easy vegan options are much appreciated. So glad we decided to eat here instead of the usual fast food place we were considering.“

“Best spot in the neighborhood💯🖤“

“We went through the drive up window, and Shelby took such good care of us. Very kind and courteous. The most pleasant drive thru experience I have had in a very long time.“

“So far I’ve only had the sugar cookies and I’m in love. I guess that’s why they are called Love Drops 😍😂 Great customer service as well! 10/10 would recommend 👍🏼👍🏼“

“This is a good experience overall for bulk flour delivery. It does take a bit longer than preferred to get authorized for delivery, however, the fast unload time makes up for it. My favorite thing is one usually overlooked, and that is access to a outhouse; now running water would be better, but I'll take it and be happy.“

“My family loves Scornovacca’s. Been going there for years. Great food and great friendly service. One of the best pizzas in town!“

“It's a really nice place and it is classy too...“

“I ❤️ Papa John's, always good service and hot food and extremely rare to mess things up. This location on Douglas in Urbandale needs an applause. I do have one bone to pick, this sandwich sucked. Not enough meat to bread ratio by a long shot.“

“Hunt Brothers Pizza is a great pizza for anybody searching for really good tasting food the employees are always very respectful their Pizza is also never undercooked or overcooked it is always just right with a perfect amount of toppings“

“Ordered from here a few times now recently, usually after midnight. This place is a godsend for late night food after all the effects from Covid.

Overall really good. They have some really unique pizzas, and theyve generally been well made. Loved the honey garlic Alfredo, could be good to spice it up and do something like honey hot garlic chicken Alfredo, or Thai chilli.

Thanks for the food!“

“I conducted an online order, and was extremely accurate! Granted, it was off peak on a Monday evening, but everything went perfect, and the husband was happy with the results! Thanks for a delicious pizza, Little Caesars!“

“WE WILL BE HAVING ALL OF OUR HOLIDAY DINNERS AT CHUCK'S. WE USUALLY GO TO JOHNNY'S STEAKHOUSE. NOT ANYMORE AFTER THE GREAT SERVICE $ FOOD WE HAD ON VALENTINES DAY, YESTERDAY !!!“

“The pizza may not be amazing, but it is good enough and always consistent. It's great for those on a budget. There are better pizza places, but sometimes you need some little Caesars to fill those niche cravings. Their bread sticks are amazing.“

“Its been years since we last had papa John's and for our kids bday party we wanted to give them a try. Every thing was delicious and they went above and beyond with giving us plates, sauces and napkins. Will definitely be back very soon. Cost was also affordable.“

“shout out to my Dominos y'all always do me right. food is delicious hot and reasonable! The Whitney family thanks u. Khloe our four year old loves Joel! 💙💜 we appreciate u! shout out to Kevin I believe it was the prepared our food cuz its fire AS ALWAYS! AGAIN THANK YOUV“

“We accidentally ordered our pizza at a different location. Finn was at the counter and helped us out. We replaced our order with him and he said he could have it out in 12 min. Sure enough 12 min later I had 3 pizzas in my hand. We usually have a good experience when we order from here but today Finn went above and beyond. Thank you!“

“Me and my boyfriend ordered carryout from here almost a week ago. We ordered 2 medium pizzas and the molten lava cake. It didn't take very long for them to make our order it was really hot and smelled amazing. The service isn't that great and they forgot our sauces so had we to go back and get them.“

“Navigating to the new location was an experience. I guess maps had not been updated with the new location that was a former bank. Anyway, not a dominoes issue. The pizza was fine decided to try the new spicy chicken ranch. Won't have that one again. Never been a huge fan of ranch in any form. Didn't really work with the other items on the pizza. I'll stick with my fiery Hawaiian“

“Ordered carryout and everything was exactly how you want it to go. Order was ready when they said it would be, staff was friendly at pickup, and the pizza was hot and made well good amount of toppings and the crust was cooked just right.

Nothing complicated, just a smooth, easy experience and good food. This location seems to be run well and I’ll definitely order from here again.“

“I ordered my pizza through Instacart, and the experience was seamless with regular updates on my order’s progress. The pizza was ready on time, freshly prepared, well-packed, and handed over with a friendly greeting. Excellent service from Pizza Hut!

Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian and Halal eater, I loved the “Create Your Own Pizza” option at Pizza Hut. It allowed me to customize the ingredients to fit my dietary preferences perfectly. Choosing what to include and exclude made it a great experience, and the result was delicious and satisfying! Highly recommend this option for anyone with specific dietary needs.“
