I-80 Dhaba in Grinnell offers delicious and fresh North Indian cuisine, a perfect spot to satisfy home-made food cravings while traveling. This authentic Punjabi dhaba is known for its excellent vegetarian options, customer-friendly service, and inviting ambiance. It is vegan and vegetarian-friendly, with spacious parking and a kid-friendly environment. Additional perks include the use of biodegradable cups and plates and a nearby Tesla charging station. The clean and spacious restaurant is a great spot for regular visits, and the staff is quick to serve.
The restaurant can get quite busy, especially on Sundays, and may run out of food. The portion sizes are generous and good for sharing, and the cost is very reasonable. The chana masala, basmati rice and tandoori roti is a great option. The place is convenient for roadtrips, being right off the highway, and has free WiFi. They have Beyond Meat on the menu and the Beyond Tikka Masala is delicious. The Samosas are a highlight, being spicy but not too hot. The Palaak Paneer is one of the favorites, and eating it with the garlic naan is magnificent. The kadhai paneer, dal makhni, and naan everything tastes like it came straight from home. The aloo paratha and kadai panner are delicious. The garlic naans are on the best, soft and just melts. Massala lassi is delicious as well. The restaurant could have more vegan options and listed vegan alternatives for more options. The vegan options in general are a little limited compared to most mainstream Indian restaurants.
