“Huge shout out to Wasabi Johnston! My daughter wanted to go there for sushi for her bday dinner last night. I called ahead and asked if we could bring in a cake, etc... they were MORE than accommodating. They said whatever we needed! They kept it a secret until we finished our dinner. Brought out the cake, lit the candles, provided extra plates, a knife to cut it and were SO kind. Thank you guys all SO much! My daughter was thrilled (and embarrassed). Excellent dinner too!“

“Had it on our list for Ankeny Chinese restaurants and so glad we tried it. Small place, 3 big tables. Very attentive staff. Recommended good combos. Fair priced food. Can’t beat 4 crab rangoons for $2.50! The packaging is super cute and high quality. They cooked the food after we ordered it so we waited maybe 5-10 minutes but it was piping hot when they delivered it to our table. Will 100% be back again. So glad we found this Ankeny gem!“

“While I don't know how long Asian Cuisine has been open in Grimes, it has the small-town feel Grimes used to have. It's in one of what has to be the first shopping strips in town and I don't want the outer facade to hinder your decision to dine in! The restaurant was clean, service was fast and friendly, and the cost for lunch was exactly where I like it to be (under $10). And the main reason to go is because the food is delicious. I will be going back!

“Oh my word!!! The best Chinese food in the midwest!!! The rice was fresh the ? beef was phenomenal! I never had broccoli beef without having to add soy sauce since I was a child! The beef egg roll looked more like a spring roll buy still sooooo flavorful!! The crab ragoon was creamy!! The potstickers were dry but very yum!! Moo goo gai pan was delightful fresh ingredients. The spicy hot oil was perfect!! The hot and sour soup was spicy but fresh. The egg drop soup was the clearest most flavorful best tasting I have ever had! Great job Mr. Egg Roll!!“

“Ordered for delivery and the app was easy to use and quoted an hour for delivery. Before I could finish vacuuming and she was knocking on my door. This lady was so sweet!!! Now the food was... It was amazing! I ordered Mongolian beef and chicken with veggies. The egg rolls were perfect, light crispy and full of goodness. Both entrees were fantastic. “Cool Basil has been a long time favorite of my wife and I. We hadn’t been there in a while when we stopped in for lunch today. The atmosphere was noticeably different. They were playing a funky smooth jazz music where every song sounded the same. I liked the previous light/classic rock mix much better. The staff seems to have completely changed since we were last in. We didn’t recognize anyone, whereas we were on a first name basis with much of the previous staff. The service was noticeably slower and less friendly. The food was still very good. I ordered my usual spice level 2 and it was very, very hot. Much hotter than it used to be. I’m just wondering if they are under new ownership or management because it is a very different experience from a year ago. I still recommend Cool Basil, it’s just not the familiar place that we loved anymore.“
