“Cool Basil has been a long time favorite of my wife and I. We hadn’t been there in a while when we stopped in for lunch today. The atmosphere was noticeably different. They were playing a funky smooth jazz music where every song sounded the same. I liked the previous light/classic rock mix much better. The staff seems to have completely changed since we were last in. We didn’t recognize anyone, whereas we were on a first name basis with much of the previous staff. The service was noticeably slower and less friendly. The food was still very good. I ordered my usual spice level 2 and it was very, very hot. Much hotter than it used to be. I’m just wondering if they are under new ownership or management because it is a very different experience from a year ago. I still recommend Cool Basil, it’s just not the familiar place that we loved anymore.“

“I want tell you how absolutely amazing this place is. I ordered 4 dinners the day before Thanksgiving for delivery on Thanksgiving. I assumed they would be open. They were actually closed but they called me and asked me if I still wanted my order. I did because we had no other food planned. They were so gracious to make and deliver our meals to us on a day that they could have said no. That is the most amazing customer service I’ve had in a long time. Please give them a try if you haven’t yet. The food is delicious and the people are truly gracious hosts. I will order from here many more times.“

“If you are looking for PHO or great Chinese food China Dragon is legit. My wife and are shocked at how flavorful the soup was here. It absolutely competes with the great Vietnam restaurants in Des Moines The Pho has a very rich beef broth where you can have onions, scallions, basil or lime.

Appetizers like Crab rangoon, egg rolls and especially the ribs are delicious and full of flavor. The Chinese menu offers classics like General Chicken, fried rice, beef w broccoli and all the classics you would expect.

The restaurant is owner operated so every meal is made with care.

Seating is simple and casual attire is welcome.“

“Friends visiting offered to go grab lunch and asked what I wanted. The wife called in our order and the husband drove to get it. The 3 of us agreed it was fast and delicious but not too heavy that we felt stuffed. We will definitely return here. YUM!“

I called ahead and asked if we could bring in a cake, etc... they were MORE than accommodating. They said whatever we needed! They kept it a secret until we finished our dinner. Brought out the cake, lit the candles, provided extra plates, a knife to cut it and were SO kind. Thank you guys all SO much! My daughter was thrilled (and embarrassed). Excellent dinner too!“

My wait staffer — Shaquille - was very professional and delivered my appetizer of dumplings along side a bowl of steam rice. As you circle the grill masters there are a variety of fresh options from proteins, veggies, soups, sauces and desserts. The grill masters grill your select dish to perfection as you circle around to grab your pleasant smelling creation. The atmosphere is trendy suitable for all gatherings to socialize with an upbeat crowd where there is suitable parking with a reasonable budget friendly menu for most diets.“

“Ordered lunch online and picked up in ~15 minutes. Food was warm and serving sizes are generous. Lunch special comes with your entree of choice, fried rice, a crab rangoon, and egg roll. Unfortunately, the egg roll was cooked well on the outside but undercooked on the inside and was also very oily.“

“If you are looking for the best egg rolls in all of central Iowa you need to stop in. I could literally live happily off their egg rolls for the rest of my life. “Yesterday after work I decided I didn’t want to cook and decided to get some quick food at Panda Express, went through the drive through, employee who took my order was very friendly and courteous, I only waited a few extra minutes to receive my food , when the young man working the drive through handed me my order he thanked me and also said thank you for being nice and friendly 🥹🥰 , made me realize that not all people are and working in the food industry can sometimes be challenging, please acknowledge this employees kind heart, he is a gem of the younger generation 💎
I do have a request as I’m sure many do, please make it possible to get chicken and broccoli, I prefer not to eat beef .
It would also be great if there were more of a vegetarian option on the menu .
The only bad thing about my order was that I ordered the cream cheese ragoon and it literally tasted like sour cream, it was absolutely disgusting lol 😝 🤢, I just threw it away and won’t order them anymore, so that is why I’m giving 4 stars ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ .
