“Huge shout out to Wasabi Johnston! My daughter wanted to go there for sushi for her bday dinner last night. I called ahead and asked if we could bring in a cake, etc... they were MORE than accommodating. They said whatever we needed! They kept it a secret until we finished our dinner. Brought out the cake, lit the candles, provided extra plates, a knife to cut it and were SO kind. Thank you guys all SO much! My daughter was thrilled (and embarrassed). Excellent dinner too!“

“Ordered for delivery and the app was easy to use and quoted an hour for delivery. Before I could finish vacuuming and she was knocking on my door. This lady was so sweet!!! Now the food was... It was amazing! I ordered Mongolian beef and chicken with veggies. The egg rolls were perfect, light crispy and full of goodness. Both entrees were fantastic. Definitely the best I have had in the Ankeny area in the past. Thank you for doing a great job on customer service and quality😊“

“Meet my brother and his wife as they were traveling and I knew Hy Vee would be easy to find coming of the interstate. I was not aware that they had no wait service in the restaurant. They directed me to the bar area so we could order. Starla G was our server and she was okay. We ordered our drinks and took advantage of the half price appetizers. The chicken quesadilla was good for $4.50 they did change extra for guacamole but worth the extra money. Drinks at $1.99 for coffee and ice tea was a good price. We all ordered different entries so we had chicken sandwiches and omelettes for $10.00 each. Food was good but not sure I would return as I like to have a more attentive waiter or waitress.“

“I want tell you how absolutely amazing this place is. I ordered 4 dinners the day before Thanksgiving for delivery on Thanksgiving. I assumed they would be open. They were actually closed but they called me and asked me if I still wanted my order. I did because we had no other food planned. They were so gracious to make and deliver our meals to us on a day that they could have said no. That is the most amazing customer service I’ve had in a long time. Please give them a try if you haven’t yet. The food is delicious and the people are truly gracious hosts. I will order from here many more times.“

“Cool Basil has been a long time favorite of my wife and I. We hadn’t been there in a while when we stopped in for lunch today. The atmosphere was noticeably different. They were playing a funky smooth jazz music where every song sounded the same. I liked the previous light/classic rock mix much better. The staff seems to have completely changed since we were last in. We didn’t recognize anyone, whereas we were on a first name basis with much of the previous staff. The service was noticeably slower and less friendly. The food was still very good. I ordered my usual spice level 2 and it was very, very hot. Much hotter than it used to be. I’m just wondering if they are under new ownership or management because it is a very different experience from a year ago. I still recommend Cool Basil, it’s just not the familiar place that we loved anymore.“
