“Food is always delicious! I went in after work on Mother’s Day to take home 3 orders of shrimp fajitas and the patio and tables inside were packed. Despite staff being very busy, I still got my order in 15 min and one of the teens working at the register checked on me while I waited to see if I needed anything. I’ve always had excellent service. The margaritas are delicious as well!“

“My husband and I have eaten at Aura at least 5 times. We've also hosted group dinners there. The food is FANTASTIC, and the mussels are absolutely delicious. And I'm from the NW, I know delicious mussels! The ONLY thing keeping me from giving it a 5 STAR review is that the music is too loud, and it's monotonous. “Everything was phenomenal from beginning to end! The waitstaff was attentive but not overbearing, and our waiter in particular was so friendly and recommended the crab stuffed walleye, which was to die for! The environment was classy and intimate, yet casual enough that it felt comfortable and warm. The best part of the meal was the appetizer- the seared ahi tuna is too good for words, just trust me on this and order it! This was a great place to visit for my birthday dinner, and we definitely plan on being back.“

I considered the shredded chicken in the tacos to be very good. One person was into the chili relleno but not the beef enchilada. Pollo loco was the most enjoyed meal of the group. Portions are large. The service was on top of it.“

“This is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Urbandale area. The food is always delicious and arrives quickly, and the drinks are very tasty as well. I usually get the chori-pollo and highly recommend it!

But today 7-11-2025, we showed up at 9:10pm and were excused out the door because the front greeter stated to us that they stopped dinning at 9pm. The waitress in-front of him looked like she felt bad and was wanting to sit us down, but the male greeter gave her a grin. The Hours for this place is 11am-10pm. What a way to loose business right at your door! Very disappointed with this !“

“We have one of these back home in Virginia. Ours is situated in a gas station. This one is inside a liquor store. I was totally blown away by how good the chicken was at my home location and wanted to compare. I am happy to report that this place exceeded all of my expectations! Sky was behind the counter tonight. He was great! He gave us some samples while we waited. They make the chicken fresh, and it's worth the wait! I promise you. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, flavorful, and perfectly spiced! I can honestly say that this is my favorite fried chicken, ever! The biscuits, wedges, and mac & cheese were also delicious! Some people may be put-off by its location but, looks are deceiving. Try it for yourself!!! Also, our 3-piece breast and wing combo with biscuit and side, and 3-piece tender combo with biscuit and side was ~$18. Super cheap and we each got two meals out of each Krunch Box. You do the math!“

“Couldn't have asked for better service considering I showed up 20 min before they closed, which might I add they closed at 9:30 on a Saturday & will discuss below. Food was delicious and hot no complaints with quantity or quality chips and salsa included. The corn shells were so fresh & warm I could have eaten the shells alone for my dinner. The seven seas soup was superb even though it contained only quarter size piece of fish. here are the few reasons I feel the need for 3 stars. First closing hrs are 9:30pm on a Sat.? Why so early?
Secondly, the parking lot feels unsafe as it seems there's a lot going on with all the businesses & traffic on the property. So not family friendly in the evenings.
Lastly, Environment inside was very noisy and rather busy. So not a place to wind down & have a drink at least not 20 min. before closing time (I can only base off the time I spent at the est.)

My last order for to go was paid for with a gift card from corporate on Dec 7th, and yet another (premium) side was missing, and the rice had a hair in it (Definitely not one of ours). Because you can't turn left from SE 14th, it is hard to get into the parking lot.“
