The food is standard for Taco John's. Some items on the menu are trash but I still eat it. Other items are really good.

I feel the pricing however is way higher than it should be.

I will say, the fried chicken taco was... Not worth trying.“

“Always reliable. Fast, efficient service, clean. This Pancheros is consistently better than the other Iowa franchises and those that are similar. As a chain, their extras are easy to accidentally pay extra for and they are expensive for what you get (guacamole, very small queso). Sometimes you feel rushed or pressured to not get the salsa varieties and quantities you'd like.
I love that they leave their hot sauce sits out for me to decide how much I want. Main entree is always nice-sized. The inside vibe is clean but nothing else. Overall great place to get things to go.“

“I came by yesterday on lunch break from a local training. I had intended on eating there but as it got closer to my hour being up, I knew I’d need to take it with me. There was only one person working and there were a handful of tables so I understood. They quickly boxed it up. I did have chips and salsa while I waited and it was really good! The salsa was super fresh! I ordered the Elote and two of the chorizo street tacos. They were both phenomenal. They even came with two small cups of the sauce for the tacos. One was a verde and the other was a smokey, much spicier sauce but they both were super good! I will definitely be going back and bringing my kiddos as they love Mexican food as much as I do!“

“Breakfast was SO GOOD. We ordered a classic plate (for kiddo) crepes, and chilaquiles. Crepes were huge. 3 massive crepes folded with house made sweet cream, topped with a drizzle of Nutella and fresh sliced strawberries. Chilaquiles came with a side of beans, avocado, and two eggs any style. I would probably kill for the green salsa - it’s tangy and the perfect amount of spice to enhance the food. The red salsa though is lackluster. Chips stayed crispy and the steak & eggs were cooked as ordered. Kiddo couldn’t get enough. Classic diner links and toast (choice of white wheat or sourdough), butter, and those little square jelly containers. She even ate the beans and avocado off the chilaquiles. 10/10 will go 100 more times.“

I considered the shredded chicken in the tacos to be very good. One person was into the chili relleno but not the beef enchilada. Pollo loco was the most enjoyed meal of the group. Portions are large. The service was on top of it.“

I accidentally left my phone and that nice lady actually noticed and put it up for me ... there' was kind of a language barrier when I was there earlier ordering food..but when I went back we both understood that hand action where we use our hands as the telephone so she knew exactly what I meant..oh yeah hugs are Universal to and I had to give her a great big one for keeping my phone for me when she found it... “Currently, this is my absolute favorite restaurant in Iowa. They have the tastiest shrimp cocktail and my favorite are the shrimp empanadas from the appetizer section of the menu. My husband loves virtually anything they serve. I can overlook that it isn't fancy and sometimes the service is a little uncoordinated when you end up with such amazing food. I see the people in the kitchen looking like they are working so hard and from the heart. Now, if you want a good laugh, I ate here ten years ago for my first time and it took me nine years before I ever would consider returning. I ordered paella with the extra $1 charge if I wanted the seafood all out of the shell instead of me doing it myself. I was eating away while in deep conversation with my family, enjoying my food, when I bit down on some random large piece of a broken shell buried in the paella. I got up and ran to the bathroom and had to spit out the shells and unfortunately parts of six of my broken teeth! So, if you order any dish with the promise of the seafood all taken from its shell; still be careful!“
