“we have ate here on and off since moving here over 20 years ago. I love the salad bar and have always been very satisfied. However our most resent visit was NOT good. I got the cod and mashed potatoes . Our food took a long time and then my mashed potatoes and gravy were very cold. The waitress did not come back to the table for a long time. The boys were done eating and I was still waiting for a waiter to come. Eventually she came and warmed them up but by then my dinner was ruined and everyone was done eating. I will not eat warmed back up cod. So my whole dinner was chicken food. We may return but im in no hurry . Very disappointed in this visit. Never encountered this before, so hopefully it was an off day.”

The steaks were cooked as ordered, and we also enjoyed even the house salad with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing (my husband made a note of the fact that it contained a nice mixture of greens, not the usual iceberg lettuce!). Will definitely be back!”

“We are from the suburbs of Chicago and this was our first time in Dubuque. It was a Friday night and we loved the artistic and rustic feel of the Mill district as we walked toward the restaurant. The restaurant is small but warm. Our server was spot on with her timing. Drinks were wonderfully crafted and the food was unique and delicious. The chef obviously takes pride in their selections of locally sourced fresh ingredients and presenting them with visually satisfying appeal. They tasted delicious as well albeit a touch on the salty side but that may be my personal aversion. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner and it put us in a great mood to enjoy the rest of our stay.”

“If you’re in Dubuque you need to stop in and grab a cup! Great coffee, cool little shop vibe, and super nice people. Overall great experience. Well worth a half mile walk from the hotel at 7am! Prices and coffee beat Starbucks hands down!”

“Excellent burgers, huge list of choices. I had the olive burger with Swiss cheese. Delish! Others had the BLT burger, steak sandwich, and steak salad. All were excellent. Service was delightful, very friendly. We arrived at end tail end of the lunch hour and our order was a bit slow in arriving, but food was hot, fresh, and good. Atmosphere is casual, light-hearted with an auto garage theme. Highly recommended!”

“I recently had dinner at Caliza and was really impressed. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, so it was hard to choose. The chicken kebab and the beef stroganoff were both were excellent—full of rich, balanced flavors and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I can’t wait to go back! Sooo good!”

“We ran a good size benefit at Happy's. In the weeks prior the owner was very prompt and informative about any questions I had. On the day of the event the manager and staff could not have been more helpful and cooperative. They handled the crowd at the bar very well and the parking in the back was sufficient for the large amount of people that attended. I HIGHLY recommend Happy's and have no regrets at all for using their facility.”
