“Great and friendly customer service. I asked if there were avocados in the Southwest Ranch salad, and the employee answered yes. However, I did not taste or see any avocados in my salad. The service was a bit slow as well when compared to other drive thrus. Those are the only things keeping me from giving them a 5.“

“It was my first time there. Since I walked through the door I was met with a smile, I was given water as soon as I sat down. The ladies took my order and made sure to refill my coffee. Our friends took us here several years ago and we really enjoyed the experience...finally getting the chance to return and found it just as impressive.

We started with drinks, including a Bloody Mary with Mezcal (see picture) and an After Midnight - both quite tasty. We then ordered Collective Wings (see picture) as an appetizer and found them so delicious that we were tempted to order more of them for our meal.

For our dinner, my wife ordered the Cubano (see picture) and I opted for the Squash Risotto (see picture). As we always do, we shared tastes of each both of us thought that both meals were good enough to order again and recommend.

A great place to eat towards the north end of the Valley Junction 'Strip' with an amazing atmosphere and fantastic service.

Parking: We walk a bit but we had a truck pulling a trailer. It was a Sunday morning so there was plenty of parking.“

“If I could go here for breakfast everyday, I certainly would. Fantastic presentation and attention to detail. Everything was prepared perfectly and the modern vibe is something refreshing. They are not afraid to be bold and provide a European-like vibe.

“Thrive Nutrition is the place to be if you need a little pick me or just a quick meal. The shakes are delicious and they have so many flavors to choose from. The teas a tasty treat that do not taste like your average tea. They also have protein balls and pudding. They also have options for kids.“

“I want to give a shout out to Early Birds restaurant in West Des Moines. Kevin was a fantastic bartender. First time I have been here. The food was amazing. I love the atmosphere. The whole concept is great. The menu… too many things to choose from. I got the Cinnamon roll French toast. Delicious. And the Hashbrown holes delicious. It was great to get an appetizer before my French toast. I have to give a shout out to Kevin as he knows everything on the menu plus he has great suggestions for drinks from the bar! “Family in town for a wedding so we stopped by the Gardens for a group outing. Luckily they had room for 8 person reservation. We all enjoyed the pick 2 with varying soup/salad/sandwich/grain bowls. Can’t say enough about how wonderful it all was. Fresh and creative choices. Loved the gruyere and asparagus sandwich! “We live in Ankeny, but very often drive to the Johnston Panera to enjoy our weekly coffee/pastry date. This location is obviously managed well. It is always clean and the pastries are not over baked. The coffee bar is also always clean as is the microwave. Coffee is always fresh and if it isn't they immediately bring out a fresh pot. Also this location seems to be well staffed! Our compliments to the management and staff of this Johnston location! Well done!“

“I went to work over my lunch there, and 3 people were very kind, I could see they were working hard. One is Renee, the manager. She manages a great group, quality of food and speed with which it came was fantastic even during lunch rush. 2 of the other people I know personally who are hard-workers, conscientious of cleanliness of the environment and food presentation.
