The food was really good, but the highlight of our entire time there was our server Carla. Carla went above and beyond for us. “We are not from the neighborhood and the waitress was very welcoming. Great fun and a rowdy crowd for the Bears game. We had chicken wings and an appetizer platter which were delicious. There "beignet" platter is off the chain. We'll definitely be going back“

“Best pool hall in the county and surrounding area. The tables are super well kept! They were all recently replaced. The balls are polished often, and there’s always quality chalk. The staff is friendly and are quick to help. “My wife and I love this place! We've been on and off regulars for a few years now, and it just feels like our very own Cheers. We started coming for the beer and cocktails from the fully stocked bar because it's so close to home, and the atmosphere and quality food choices on the menu drew us back for more. TOn top of that, the entire staff here are so welcoming and friendly. These are good people running a fantastic business like nothing we've ever found anywhere else in this area. We always bring our family and friends whenever they come to visit. Strongly recommend, two thumbs up!!“

“This was my first visit here, and initially, I was somewhat puzzled about where to go. However, the hostess was exceptionally welcoming and kind, taking the time to guide me through both areas. Upon entering, you find the restaurant to the right and, to the left, a bar along with a venue for live music. I visited on a Saturday night specifically for the live performance by Semple Band, and it was incredible. There was a $15 entry fee, payable in cash only. I hadn't brought any cash, but fortunately, there was an ATM right at the entrance, which was convenient. Inside the live music venue, there are two floors and plenty of space for dancing. There were lots of tables and seatings available, but you have to grab them quickly as they're first come, first served. The live music venue opens at 7:45 PM. Both the bartenders and the staff were amiable and efficient. I thoroughly enjoyed the roundhouse burger with waffle fries, priced at $16, and the beef nachos for $20. Both dishes were scrumptious, and I'd definitely order them again. The live band was fantastic, and I met many wonderful people. I had a great time at this venue.“

“This is my favorite place to visit for celebrations. In fact, I dine here on my birthday every year. The food is always delicious, and the servers are friendly and attentive. The turf room can be a bit pricey, but it is well worth the money. Try the ribeye!“

“Atwater restaurant was superb. The only down side was the aspect of handicap accessible entrance and outside entrance handicap parking. The ramp wasn't very conducive for handicap wheelchairs, scooters or walkers. It is my request that the Herrington really examine accessibility to all would be ideal for future guests.“

“Came here with friends. Ambiance was really lovely and warm set in a gorgeous old building. Good selection of drinks, service was professional and pleasant. The food was on the better side of average. Perhaps i ordered poorly. My Arctic Char was overcooked. Spatzle was drowning in sauce. My husbands slow-cooked ribs were good, the fennel in the lamb was slightly overpowering. The octopus starter was slightly overcooked. The shrimp bao was a winner. Desserts were delicious. The plating for everything was attractive. Would I return? Unlikely, given that we travelled for this.“

“We had such a fantastic night here as a family of 8 people and were taken incredible care of by Gino, our server. The staff was kind, engaging, and friendly and all worked hard to support each other considering how busy it was! The food was to die for, and Gino went as far as to get us an extra take-home container of a dressing we absolutely loved, because he was that great to us! My ONLY complaint would be the need for another bathroom or two, but when Gino saw me waiting, he escorted me to a back bathroom so that I didn’t arrive back at our table after our food was already served! The drinks were wonderful and the dessert was great! We WILL be back, and can’t wait to tell our friends and family how much we recommend The James. “Great place! I was blown away by the battered cod dinner. At $12.99 it was excellent. Probably the best fried cod I've ever had at a restaurant. Had the smoked Old Fashioned and it was carefully hand crafted before my eyes. My lunch companions has a burger and the weinerschitnzal (spelled wrong) and everyone loved the food.“

The meat was so flavorful, one slice of cheese was the perfect amount, the bread was fluffy and crispy in all the right spots. The put the juice on the side, but the meat still had some moisture to it. I like mine on the drier side so this was perfect.Their french fries were also on point!The place had been busy with Oktoberfest so they were juggling post-festing with hosting their later guests, and they did phenomenal. “Went here for brunch with my family on a Sunday afternoon. Upon stepping inside, I knew this would be a nice place to spend the afternoon. The host greeted us promptly and gave us two options for seating; and asked if any of us had food allergies...this was a nice surprise since my kids have a food allergy and nobody ever asks us. The host made it a point that he would notify the waitstaff and kitchen staff.The service was fast and efficient, our food was awesome, and the entire staff was accommodating to our two kids. As my kids finished their meals, our waiter told them to check out the art upstairs...this gesture gave my wife and I a few minutes to finish our coffee and beer.The pricing is as you would expect for this type of exclusive restaurant.Brass tacks: excellent food and high-end atmosphere without the pretense. “Working our way through Savino's menu. Tonight's fare included a Philly cheesesteak for me, and an Italian beef for my hubby. The cheesesteak tasted awesome. A very generous portion! My only complaint was that it was soaking wet. Not sure if it's because of the mushrooms (which are a high water content vegetable), or if it was grease from the meat. The bread was soaking wet, and my plate was full of liquid when I was done. Still, I did love the flavors of the sandwich, and while it was messy, I would not hesitate to order it again. The beef sandwich was very good...full of flavorful seasonings, and a very generous portion. Unfortunately, my husband ordered green peppers (which were an additional upcharge), and there were no peppers on the sandwich. That being said, he called and they were very apologetic, and offered us a discount on our next order. Mistakes do happen, and how those mistakes are rectified is what matters. Absolutely no complaints about how Savino's handled the error.“

“My wife and I had a wonderful lunch. She enjoys the fish tacos and I the Kansas City burger. Both meals were cooked perfectly. Both tasted like they have always tasted, consistently good. The beer selection was good. I went with the Sam Adams Oktoberfest on tap, and my wife went with the premium Margarita. Both were excellent. But I wish to specifically point out that our server, Adam, was top notch. He obviously was wearing many hats. He greeted us as we walked in. He seated us at a booth of our choice. He was our server too. The entire time he was doing all this, he was also taking care of all the customers at the bar. He was Sharp. He saw my wife had her cell phone out with a birthday coupon before we even told him. He took that immediately. He obviously has a ton of experience doing his job. The bartender was very accommodating to my picky girlfriend who didn’t know what she wanted, even though they were very busy.
