Wine & Food, service, atmosphere are all outstanding at this hidden gem in St. Louis.

First, as a wine bar this place excels. The owner seems to have a particular gift for finding unique, superior quality, yet affordable wines. Everything I’ve tried here has been not only excellent but also a fantastic value. A bonus is the often changing selection, providing return customers with a fresh palette of offerings.

Second, the service is unparalleled. The staff know their wine, know their offerings, and can happily point you to something fitting to your tastes. They’re happy to provide a sample to make sure you’re happy. Besides being knowledgeable and helpful, the staff is professional, yet charming and engaging.

Third, the atmosphere is comforting. In colder months the wood burning stove lends a charm that can be found no where else in St. Louis. The bar is a great place to meet new friends or catch up with old ones, while the side room with couches and table, and the small wine shop attached, are nice spots to gain a little quiet privacy. If that’s not enough, the outside garden in the back is great outside option.

Fourth, the food. So it’s a wine bar primarily. Or is it? The food here seems almost an afterthought but is so good. Everything I’ve tasted here (Goat Cheese Tart, Poutine, Crostini, BLAT, Meatballs) have been as good as anything you can find anywhere in the city. The pasta special rivals anything you can find on The Hill. The food should not be overlooked.

Come for the wine, or the service, or the atmosphere, but stay for the food.“

Burrito stuffed with eggs, chorizo, bacon, and more—ordered mine without potato. Smoky, not too spicy—YUM! BBQ was tender and tasty but chunky and not stringy—how delightful! Fries are always great and I must order every time I go. Chili had nice chunks of succulent turkey—you could see and taste the turkey. This place never disappoints and gets better every time I go.“

“Ok, here’s the thing… I love food. And when I say I love food, you might think I’m a huge person or a food critic or a chef or just a dramatic fan. Well, I am actually an artist, and I… I can tell you in no uncertain terms, that the food we received was *high art.* I don’t mean the kind of pretentious high art food that is served in tiny portions and so beautiful that you almost don’t want to eat it. I mean that it was masterfully created—flavorful, textured to perfection, filling, and lamentable *only* in that I wish I’d had room for more. We started with the stuffed mushroom appetizer—which I’ll admit is not usually my favorite, but my wife generally loves—served upon a sprinkle of arugula and a slashed drizzle of balsamic glaze. Imma tell ya… I like stuffed mushrooms now. My wife ordered an entrée of eggplant Parmesan—one that she doesn’t care to make often for herself only because (and I’m quoting), “It’s a pain in the a$$ to cook.” I ordered linguine Pomodoro with added shrimp and had the steamed mussels appetizer served with my entrée, so that I could add them in (as I *do* love a tutto mare). Since my wife’s entrée was one of her favorites, and I don’t generally care for it, I left her to it, concentrating on my own. I shucked all the mussels and strained their accompanying shallots and bacon into my linguine leaving the garlic and cilantro pesto behind for bread dipping. OH [*clap*clap*clap*]—I forgot to mention the bread. They served a fantastic mini loaf of the softest bread topped with caramelized onions alongside fresh grated Parmesan in olive oil. Upon our finishing it off, I asked for a second helping. Back to the entrée… My first actual bite was of the mussels, and that bite was fantastic. Then I had one of the shrimp… and… here’s the thing… I am a poet, and I also write children’s books, so when I tell you that I simply do not have a superlative sufficient to describe the shrimp, you know I’m being serious. It was warm, seasoned, and snappy as shrimp should be, but it gave me pause—as Anton Ego in Ratatouille. * First, doubt—that I had experienced something so specifically wonderful before * Then, a quick scan from childhood to now for confirmation * And lastly, the comfort that can only come from those happiest memories of childhood—Christmas mornings on receiving more than you could ever have hoped for, Halloween nights’ preparations for what giggles and terrors were to come, and burrito-you ensconced in soft blankets straight from the dryer Then of course, the rest of the dish, twirled and slurped—not too quickly… every bite a confirmation and yet still a revelation. Here again, my only lament that I must see a portion of it boxed to leave room for dessert. And… dessert. Oh, boy… Seeing all of the items, my wife and I—in celebration of our 26th anniversary—decided on the sampler. Listen up, folks: flourless chocolate torta, crème custard napoleon, and gooey butter cake. JFC are you serious? Every bite more sumptuous—more scrumptious than the last. Every bit a reassurance that I will return. Our server, Chelsea, was commendable not only for her menu knowledge and sense of humor, but it’s not for nothing that she was absolutely on top of it with regard to my tea refills (which were many, as our dinner took place after a dehydratingly-busy workday for me). We will definitely be returning to Eleven Eleven, whereupon I intend to try a few different items, my palate then flooded with new sensations—new wonders… my only lament that I will not ever have that “first time experience” again.“

“We traveled up to Crown Candy on a Saturday morning for lunch, we heard about the massive BLT and their Malts from one of our vendors at work. BLT? Worth the drive. The Malts? Amazing. Even our 9yr old was beyond satisfied with his grilled cheese and ice cream. I would also like to add- we had around a 8 minute wait outside to be seated at a table…. The wait truly didn’t feel very long due to their amazing staff. The waitress constantly kept coming out and checking on us, letting us know it wouldn’t be much longer. “A Hotel Restaurant That Seriously Exceeded Expectations!

For a restaurant tucked inside a hotel, this one was a very pleasant surprise. In fact, it exceeded our expectations from the very first breakfast. We were staying at the hotel, so we had the opportunity to enjoy several meals here, and the food and service consistently impressed.

Breakfast started things off on a high note. My poached eggs were cooked beautifully, always a good test of a kitchen! Taylor and Debbie looked after us throughout our stay and were an absolute delight: friendly, chatty, welcoming, and the kind of servers who make you feel like a regular rather than a hotel guest passing through.

Lunches were equally enjoyable. I tried the Shrimp Remoulade with remoulade beurre blanc, green onion, and corn chow chow. I’d never had this dish before. It was a delicious discovery, full of flavour, just the right amount of heat, not enough to overpower the dish, but enough to keep things interesting. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, which is something I always appreciate. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered it again on another day!

Another lunchtime favourite was the Chicken BLT, with grilled chicken breast, white BBQ sauce, heirloom tomato, lettuce, bacon, guacamole, and a sesame bun. A very satisfying combination, with wonderfully crispy bacon adding that irresistible crunch and texture.

The dining room itself deserves a mention too. It’s cozy, stylish, warmly lit, and has an inviting wood-accented design that makes it feel far more like a destination restaurant than a hotel dining room.

Overall, this was one of those unexpected hotel finds that leaves you thinking, “Why go anywhere else?” Great food, generous portions, warm service, and a comfortable atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed dining here and would happily return, even if we weren’t staying at the hotel!“

“The sign on Lily's door statesthey are only open for lunch. From 11 AM to 2 PM Tuesday through Saturday. They're closed Sunday and Monday. When you walk in the door you're greeted with a warm smile and hello like you're an old friend or family. I got the gyro lunc special. It came with a 6 inch, gyro fries, and soft drink. You get one free refill with a soft drink. The gyro had so much meat on it I had to eat some of it before I could fold it up to eat it like standard gyro. My wife and I bought all inclusive tickets for the Bud deck. They were accidentally listed for sale during a 4hr window and the deck was actually closed for a private event.

This place went above and beyond for us. I wasn’t mad. I knew I’d at least be refunded. They went to the moon and back to apologize for the mistake and made us whole 5x over. I go to a lot of games, but don’t regularly pre-game here. Well that’s going to change. I’m coming here every game. Special shout out to the guest services manager and the bar manger. They made us feel special and that our business actually meant something to them.

You do NOT get this service anymore. Phenomenal people. I’m coming all summer long and I’m a patron for life. The two women who helped us were top notch. Bud deck guest manager and main floor bar manager. I don’t know their names, but they’re the best of the best in the industry.
