“Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

“We had two toasts (Mexican and Greek), one turkey blt wrap, one matcha and one americano. Toasts had rich flavors, especially the Mexican. Coffee is good. Service was fast and friendly. It was crowded when we arrived at 2 pm but still no wait to order and food came quickly. Seemed to me like mostly locals. Nice atmosphere with good people watching.“

“Had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy breakfast at this fun little Cafe. Right off of Rand rd by Tony's Market in Arlington heights. Had the Popeye Benedict so yummy perfectly poached eggs and fresh fruit so tasty. Definitely worth atleast one visit but you'll find that won't be enough.“

“Incredible wings and quick service. Had the xxx-tra hot, garlic parm and jamaican jerk. All were excellent. Tons of sauce and packed with flavor. Best part is they fry everything in beef tallow which just enhances the whole experience. Will definitely be the new go-to wing spot.“

I'm really bad with names, but an older gentleman with glasses that was working tonight always goes above and beyond to make me feel better every time I come in late at night. My Mom and Aunt ordered the chicken and Mom commented...."Now that's the way chicken is supposed to be made!!!" They were served a large tray with 4 LARGE pieces of chicken, potatoes, and long buns!!! They took half of it home and had it for dinner tonight!!! But the piece de resistance was the hot homemade strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream that seriously 4 of us shared!!!! Wow!!! What a treat!!! Oh... and....Our meals were served Hot....not cold....HOT...out of the oven.....again, the way a meal should be served! HOT!!! ha ha ha...The ambience was fun and the view of the water from our vantage point was just breathtaking!!! Our server Derrick was such a nice young man! He was professional, made certain that we were ok, and went back and forth many times for those extra things that we needed for our meal!!! I'm certain that it was very hectic for all of the servers during the fest, but they handled the crowds so well!!! Again, we were just thrilled to have stumbled on Joanie's!!! It's worth going back for seconds, thirds, fourths....etc....ha ha ha“

The carne asada burrito was one of the best that I’ve had around in the northwest suburbs. The steak was perfectly grilled, juicy and flavorful, and the best part being there was plenty of it inside the burrito! If you’re looking for fresh, homemade, authentic Mexican food that won’t break the bank in the northwest suburbs then Taqueria El Comalito is a must try!“

“What an adorable place!!! Eclectic , cozy look and vibe, they have pour over coffee which is what i chose, soooo good and really unique latte concoctions I have not seen anywhere else. There is a covered outdoor patio, with rocking chairs, a few chairs in front porch, ofcourse interior seating. Some standard tables and chairs but also couches and benches. The parking in back is tight. I recommend checking this place out if you want a different vibe than the usual Cafe.“

I can’t describe the ambiance and wonderful products. You need to experience on your own. My favorite so far is the LoveABowl. Enjoy on site or to go. “We have discovered this place 3 years ago when we are searching for an outdoor casual dining. What we found was a great place that had outdoor seating on a deck patio with umbrellas and a TV set to watch sporting events. The service was friendly, and the food was great. The drinks were very reasonable. The menu was large having everything from sandwiches to dinners. We never had a bad experience there and brought family and friends to enjoy the evening sitting outside. We always come back.“
