“The cutest family owned donut shop! The owners are those classic grandparents that just want you to leave happy and full. The donuts are always delicious and even at 3pm fresh tasting! Don't pass on the donut holes, they'll load you up!“

“After two failed attempts, I eventually acquired the cinnamon square. I swear, when I placed my order using the kiosk machine, it appeared before me in a supernatural manner. I was amazed at how quickly it was ready. It was warm and moist as I bite into it. The texture and temperature were perfect, the icing was silky, and the dough was fluffy, but the flavor was weak, I didn't notice a strong cinnamon aroma.“

“We came here to warm up and get a midday snack since we were in the area. We came an hour before closing and there were still plenty of baked goods available. There was also plenty of seating and it was clean inside. I had a blackberry brownie and a blueberry basil matcha latte. I typically dislike sweet drinks so I was hesitant to order the latte. However, it wasn't overly sweet and the flavor was interesting (in a good way). The blackberry brownie was rich and also delicious. My child had a big chocolate chip cookie and devoured it instantly. I wish we came for lunch since there were intriguing menu items but we will be back if we are in the area!“

“I work in sales and am always bringing my accounts different treats! I needed something for a couple of local accounts and found Sauer's. I have seen it several times but never stopped in. The selection was terrific and the prices were unbeatable! I got a French Flop for one account and a Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake for another. My boss got a text later in the day, from the account I gave the Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake to, asking where we got it from and how incredible it was! I will definitely be back (and hopefully get myself something soon!)!!“

“They close at 2:00. I pulled into the parking lot at 1:40 considering do I really want to be that person that walks in ordering a last minute sandwich? I saw two customers come out so I went in to go ahead and try. Staff was very friendly and made me 2 delicious sandwiches to go. Good bagels, good sandwiches. I'll be back. “The Best Bakery in the North West suburbs of Chicago. I lived in the area for over 31years before moving to AZ. We have been in Arizona for almost six years and I have been searching for a bakery that comes close to Peterson's. I have not found one yet. The bakeries that I have found in Arizona don't have danish sweet rolls. They don't have the same fillings. The Swedish flops are a special treat. Peterson's was a regular stop on my way home from church. If you enjoy fresh bakery goods and are in the Hoffman Estates area you should try them. They are on W Algonquin Road in Hoffman Estates. I hope they will ship to AZ.“

They had a carrot cake cookie that I would say ok for $5 but their regular size cookies for that same price is where I'm not totally sold. Don't get me wrong, they taste really good. I will definitely try them again, but only for their bigger cookies. The strawberry pretzel was my favorite. The carrot cake with a bit more nuts would be awesome, and I'm one of those that wants raisins with carrot cake. My only negative once again is $5 for a regular sized cookie that is delicious.FYI, there are 2 touchscreens on the counter. That is where you order. They were backwards when we went in and there was absolutely no way of knowing until they finally assisted us. So if they are backwards, flip them around and order.“

“I went today and the experience was seriously wonderful. You can see into the back area and what do you see? Just huge bags and bags of different flours, and mixers, and ovens! It's a real for real bakery making stuff fresh and amazing from scratch, not just baking what they get in from corporate. I got two loaves of sourdough from actual sourdough starter, chocolate banana bread, and other assorted treats. Everything was phenomenal! Highly recommend!“

The strawberry flavored frosting was also great.People ordering here need to know this story. We ordered a cake here for my Dad and now step mom who just recently eloped. We wanted to do something to celebrate when they got back so we got cake from here. I walked in and picked it up. I looked at it and at first glance the writing looked good. Then when I got home, well, I realized they misspelled our name. Common mistake, our name is unusually long. I called them and told them our situation and they were apologetic, and owned the issue to the point that they actually drove out with their frosting and utensils and rewrote the cake. ?. “I was looking up a place to get a tiny cake that my dog can eat for her birthday and found that Smallcakes makes individual mini "pupcakes" -- so adorable. They are carrot cake mini cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and a tiny dog bone biscuit on top. They come in separate containers with lids. I preordered and paid online the day before. They were very friendly at the store and I was in and out fast. I will come back again for these pupcakes.“

Their creme and berry filled croissants are perfect. Staff: 5 STARS. Always friendly and patient. Ambiance: 3.5 STARS. It's nothing spectacular but serves as a good enough place to meet and chat over goodies. Cleanliness: 2.5 STARS. This place consistently looks dirty.
