“This place is a little hard to find. It's in a strip mall, set back from the road, southeast of St. Charles and Schmale Roads. There is not much else in the shopping center, a small Asian market, a salon, and a suspicious looking doctor's office that looks more like a currency exchange. Once you've pulled into the right parking lot, you'll see flashing blue lights - like a strip club. The lights are obnoxiously bright. What's inside doesn't look impressive, but what's inside the pastry cases is delicious. La Mexicana is what you would expect from a panaderia: grab a tray and some tongs, and pick your treats out of the three pastry cases. Some items had descriptions and prices, others did not. I spent about $7 on some treats to share with friends after dinner. Everything is about $1, some a little more or less. The Pan de Queso (literally, bread of cheese), a cream filled horn-shaped croissant thing, and a "Bolillo" - a fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, were the best things of the bunch. The giant pink cookie was a bit chalky, but that's a Mexican bakery for you...probably quite good for a pink cookie, just not my favorite. The empanadas were not very good. It's usually a solid choice for a panaderia, but the last one went in the garbage. Some were practically void of any filling. The one mystery item was the pig-shaped bread. I couldn't resist the only animal-shaped treat in the shop. I thought maybe it would taste like bacon. It was just plain, flavorless bread. I don't know why it was shaped like a pig. La Mexicana is a cheap way to get a sugar fix and a decent panaderia overall. Worth a visit if you're nearby.“
“Great location that is in a Pilot Travel Center.Taste just like a typical mall location and is worth it to venture out since Cinnabons are hard to come by nowadays. Same smells, taste as well as friendly. With many options of small buns, mini popcorn like buns as wel as the classic sized Cinnabon that taste just like it should.Highly recommend!“

However, it wasn't overly sweet and the flavor was interesting (in a good way). The blackberry brownie was rich and also delicious. My child had a big chocolate chip cookie and devoured it instantly. Our cake was beautiful, flavorful and so moist. I wish I would have had time to eat more! My only gripe was during the planning process. It was very simple to do an at-home tasting, but when it came to design, the consultant I worked with was not super friendly and basically told me that what I had chosen wouldn’t look good (even though I had several pictures of exactly what I wanted which were simple and beautiful). In the end it all worked out, but it made me really hesitant about the process. With that being said, the cake was delicious and I would absolutely order from them again.“

I asked for a Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi, whichever they have and she told me they have "Mexican Coke" what the hell is that?! Comes back with the to go food and checks, there were three of us and she brought three separate checks, great! Well we tipped according to what we felt she deserved (even then, she actually got more than what she deserved). Also by the way, anytime we go out to eat, we are VERY generous tippers, but do tip accordingly.I go to the washroom and come back and she was at the table talking to my sister and when I walked up, I heard her saying, she left me 10% and you left me 18% and she left me 15% and I just wanna know why? Was there something wrong with my service? She was legit upset! I said to her wait, you're actually questioning your tip? She kept saying that she wanted to know if there was something wrong with the service, but she knows what she was doing. I honestly never in my life have ever had anyone do something like this, I was shocked! Not to mention there were other people sitting around and she was pointing at each of us telling us what we gave her for a tip! It was the most absurd thing! The audacity!So she finally walks away and I go ask for the manager, who happened to be the guy that I asked if she was still there. His name was Sam and he was very nice and very apologetic, he said he was embarrassed and that he would let the owner know. I sure hope he did because employees like this (speaking of employees like that, there were a couple of them behind the deli counter giving us some of the hardest looks, they must be friends!) are going to drive away customers! The store about 12 miles from my home and it's in the heart of the Danada square in Wheaton. I was surprised how friendly staff were and they are just focusing on cake only. The cake was very moist and a bit too sweet. In my opinion, if they can reduce the amount of sugar in a half, that would make the cake better. I will definitely come back to try other flavors.“

“I saw the bakery sign and quickly parked the car. Upon entering, I saw that the bakery cases mainly held cookies, bars, and cupcakes. Not a huge variety, and more specialized with huge sandwiched cookies, macarons, large bar cookies. I opted for a Raspberry crumb bar and a chocolate cherry macaron decorated to look like Santa's belly. The bar cookie was huge; about 4" x 5". It had a deliciously crisp base, and you could taste the butter. It was filled with a thin layer of jam and a lovely crumb topping.The macaron was another story. The cookie itself was great. Light, airy, and crisp. The filling, however, tasted like white wedding cake frosting. It totally overpowered the macaron base. Made my teeth hurt. We took them home to try instead of sitting in the reserved seating area next to the serving area. The cupcakes were moist, and the frosting and filling were rich. The selection was terrific and the prices were unbeatable! I got a French Flop for one account and a Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake for another. My boss got a text later in the day, from the account I gave the Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake to, asking where we got it from and how incredible it was!
