“A little disappointed tonight the burger was not as good as usual and service could have been better. Mostly they need to install acoustics way to noisy you can hardly hear or enjoy a conversation.“

“Great Dunkin Donuts location. The place was empty when I visited on a weekday afternoon so I was in and out very quickly. The drive thru is nice and wide and parking was ample. The menu board in the drive thru is also bright and clear with large fonts for all menu items. I was the only car in line and my coffee was ready by the time I pulled up to the window.“

“Randomly found this restaurant on google maps driving from the city to burbs in search for a place that makes jjajangmyun, my mom’s favorite. Ordered a bunch of items and picked up. Sat inside to wait for them to finish my order and I loved the small mom and pop random design, comfortable feel. Food - Everything was delicious. Price - very reasonable for what you get. I’d have to argue the best jjajangmyun in Chicago - I mixed the kan-jjajang and jjajangmyun together. This will be the go to spot to pick up for me whenever I head to the suburbs. 🚀🙏“

“We like it here, especially because they are patriotic. Although the lady touching our slices with her bare hands put me off. I mean she is touching everything, the counters, doors, registers and then picked our slices up. You can spread viruses that way. Please wear gloves.“

“I was wanting to try Korean style fried chicken. I was not disappointed. The chicken is crispy, moist and just the right amount of spice. The menu looks so good, I had difficulty deciding what to get. I will definitely come back.“

“Recently celebrated a 70th birthday with the D'Alexander family. What a great event. The staff could not have been nicer, and attentive. You only thought you might need something at the table and it would appear out of no where. The food was all home made and you could tell made from traditional old recipes and a lot of love thrown in. You feel like you are in a small cafe in Italy. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options at this restaurant, an entire section of the menu is devoted to vegetarian food. I personally had paper dosa and paneer tikka, both of which are vegetarian.

Dietary restrictions: I have nut and sesame allergies, and the staff was very considerate of these issues.“

“We have always enjoyed VT but this was poorly managed. We came in on a Wednesday and ask to sit at a booth. The booth they sat us at was right next to a party they had going on. And people were standing right at the edge of the booth and was extremely loud. Why they didn't put the party separated in the empty section by the bar would be more appropriate. It seems they were over the limit on the one side. So we asked to move to a booth that was empty. They said we couldn't move to that booth as it wasn't open. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere.“

“The Original Nana’s Hot Dogs is a classic spot for Chicago-style hot dogs and fresh-cut fries. I love the old-school feel and the generous portions—especially the fries piled right on top of the dog. It’s been around for decades, and you can taste the tradition. Sometimes the buns are a bit soft and the quality can vary, but overall it’s a solid, nostalgic place for a quick and tasty meal.“

“Great beers (as usual). Tonight’s review is for the featured “food truck” experience the Counting Crow. Full disclosure, we have never tasted CC prior, although online it looks like they regularly service most of the top Independent craft brewers for some time throughout suburban Chicagoland. Given their excellent reviews, was excited to taste. Nope. Didn’t realize their posted 5-7 limited quantities meant exactly that. By 6:00 pm on a warm busy spring Friday evening, CC was already sold out of 2/3rds of their (flash heated on a table top griddle) menu of Pork belly tacos and Shrimp po’boys (on a Friday, in lent)? Which only left the many hungry to enjoy their signature chicken sandwich (original, medium spicy and extra spicy) served with chips. While the sourcing of their chicken breasts (decent size/texture meaty and fried well) was good, their temperature plated was lukewarm and underwhelming. Maybe a pop up on the patio isn’t the best way to promote your food, Idk. Not a fan and can’t recommend. Definitely won’t go out of my way to sample again“

“Arrachera Mexican Grill has been exceptional since the moment I walked in. The service is amazing, friendly, fast, and they’ve treated me very well every time. I even got a free sample of their quesabirria, which came out quick and was delicious.

The consomé that comes with the quesabirria is rich and full of flavor. Not too strong or too light, just a perfect balance. A lot of places struggle to match their consomé to their quesabirria, but this spot really nails it.

The green salsa is creamy and pairs perfectly with their tacos, which are priced very fairly. Some places nearby charge close to $5 per taco, but here the prices feel perfect for the quality and flavor you get. The red salsa isn’t exactly my flavor palette, but that doesn’t take away from how good the food is overall.

I ordered the quesabirria, an arrachera taco, a chorizo taco, a torta cubana, and flan. Everything came out fresh, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The arrachera was tender and the flan was the perfect sweet finish.

As a Carpentersville native, I can honestly say this spot stands out above other established Mexican restaurants nearby. Better quality, better flavor, and better prices.

They’ve only been open about five months, but Arrachera Mexican Grill is already one of the best new spots in town. Highly recommend.“

“I had wanted to visit for awhile as it the name is inviting in a world of burger places.
It has stunning bakery items and sweets!
We went for lunch and hopefully a handmade, fresh sandwich. That was not what we found.
We looked at their menu board and didn't see sandwiches at all. When we asked they pointed to a wall display cooler and said they could microwave any sandwich to warm it up😕
Not what we had in mind.
Sandwiches were ok, but I would not be coming back for lunch. Sweets, definitely 😁“
