“Stopped by with my daughter for lunch. The bartender Ashley was prompt in coming to the table and starting us with some drinks. The attentive service continued throughout the meal. Cheese fries were hot, crispy, and well seasoned. Smash Burger was juicy and prepared correctly. Chicago Dog on point, and the Italian Beef’s beef to bread ratio was perfect. Get it with cheese and giardiniera.“

The design of one of the reach‑in coolers stood out as particularly well‑thought‑out, and I appreciated that the store offers traditional water fountains rather than relying solely on the soda machine’s water dispenser. Staff were friendly and attentive; one employee even offered to cover a small difference in my cash payment, which I declined, but the gesture was appreciated and handled professionally.

The only issue I encountered was that the floors were noticeably sticky during my visit, which was somewhat uncomfortable and resulted in a one‑star deduction. Aside from that, this was a solid and consistent Casey’s experience.“

“I was in town for one night in Kenosha and was wanting a good home made pizza. The internet indicated that Sal’s pizza was a good option. I drove to the place and found it was in a questionable part of town and on a Saturday night, no one was there and I thought uh oh. Already committed, I went in and ordered a small Sal’s stuffed pizza with extra sauce. The pizza was astoundingly delicious and made me wonder why the people of Kenosha aren’t frequenting this place. Based on my long history of eating all kinds of pizzas, there should have been a line out the door! Well done Sal’s!“

“Louie's is the best place to eat in Waukegan. Great Italian food, thin crust pizza, fried chicken and fish. Everything is great. They give you the best bread hot from the oven when you sit down. Huge bar. Family friendly. You can't go wrong at this place.“

“We held a family funeral lunch at Lino’s. The staff was welcoming, attentive and very friendly as they took care of our party, which filled their banquet room. We had a couple of chicken dishes, a couple of vegetable dishes, a garden salad, potatoes, and cannoli for dessert. Our guests raved about the food, which was delicious and hot! Every server goes above and beyond to ensure that you have a WOW experience. The food and drinks are amazing every time. “Mom and pop joint with friendly workers/owners. Had the chicken Gyro and fries. The pita can easily rival any top Mediterranean chains. The chicken was soft and the fillings were very fresh. Fries were hot and everything felt like it was prepared fresh in a very short time.

The first time I went, I got the Ruben and a Guinness which was amazing and packed full of beef and layered with Swiss cheese and Sour Kraut. The second time I went and got the Buffalo Chicken Pizza which lived up to the bar set by the Ruben. I got another Guinness and a Basil Hayden and Basil Hayden Toasted both neat and with water backs. While enjoying my drink I had an amazing chat with the bartender, who is very knowledgeable about mixology.

Overall, the best place in all of northern Illinois to get a drink and food with family and friends.“
