“I’ve been here before but it’s been a year or so since I last stopped in. I was by myself and craving a good burger so I decided to treat myself to 5 guys. Got double cheeseburger, all the way combo for just over $18. I little pricey but I dined in to take advantage of the peanuts and free refills. Man, the burger is as tasty as I remember it. My advice, always eat in instead of taking it home. It’ll always be better. Fries were tasty and the peanuts make a tasty treat while you wait for your order. Definitely not inexpensive but the no place is anymore and the quality will always outclass any drive thru.“

Taking another point off because it is missing tomato (sign indicated this so I knew what I was getting). But adding a point cause the fries are legit. Is it my top dog ? “A basic, unassuming hotdog stand right next to the Field Museum. They have the regular Chicago dog (onions, mustard, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt, pickle spear). They also have vegetarian and turkey dogs as well as polish dogs. You can have the basic toppings mentioned above as well as chili, cheese, and sauerkraut. You can also purchase water or canned soda and chips. All combos (dog, chips, drink) appear to around 10-11 dollars (prices reflect a 3% cash discount). “Horrid! As a native Chicagoan I never expected to be disappointed by a neighbourhood hot dog stand. Yesterday, for the first time I went to Jr’s Red Hots. For starters they messed up the order of two hotdogs with fries. Instead we received two overcooked polish sausage with greasy fries. I couldn’t consume more than two bites of either. It was obvious the grill and oil from deep fryer aren’t routinely cleaned. Failed on a grand scale!!!! Never going back to Jr’s.“

“What a great find! The fries alone make this a 5 star stop. Fresh cut, but seasoned with incredible flavor. The burger was delicious- smashed and juicy. I opted to try their “craft sauce,” even though I am not usually a fan of special sauces. It was more flavorful and spicy than a typical special sauce. The burger was so good, though, it didn’t need the sauce. Perfect food for after a show at Thalia Hall.

We had a few dogs and I tried their gravy bucket which was amazing. Yes it was 90 degrees the other day but whatever, it was fire. Chili and Tamale in a cup. Super. The dogs were tasty and the fries were crispy.

The staff were friendly and the seating has a few booths. My big hang up was parking. It was limited on a Wednesday afternoon at 1p.

“Surprisingly, one of the best hot dogs in the area, maybe the city.

Their dragged through the garden link is quintessentially a classic Chicago Dog, served with a snappy link, a salty bouquet of fresh and pickled vegetables, and a soft warm poppy seed bun. The fries are also better than most crinkle cuts, and their fountain drink ratios are on point.
