Only downside, I wish they were a little bigger and on the online menu it pictured it came with coleslaw. It did come with fries that were nice and crispy. Overall, the meal was good and hot by the time I made it back home.“

I remember going here as a little girl with my grandma, my parents, and now as an adult, and it’s never diminished in quality or decreased in quaint coziness. The service is attentive, genuinely friendly, and assuringly knowledgeable. The atmosphere is that of an old world supper club from the past. The menu has plentiful options without being overwhelming. We plan to come back and bring guests, and have added this to our list of “Hidden Gems for Out of Town Visitors.”“

So they have to be good.... I did substitute the salad for the fries and was blown away how tasty it was... I mean I'm talking salad right!! “I tried to order and the girl didn't understand English nor Spanish. She wanted to take the order but because of language barrier she got someone else. Guy was nice and recommended a pomegranate something cause I didn't like. Be careful the were charging me $1.49 fir sauces without telling me. He made it sound like they came free with chicken wings. I also asked him if onion rings were beer battered or breaded? He had no clue what that meant. Btw they are breaded and pretty good. They had good fries too. My daughter got a burger I think she liked. They have a cool machine to take a picture but its broken in back. I wanted the $20 wings but dude rang me fir two 10 pieces at $24. I corrected him in the end overcharging me $4. With experience of ringing my food not the best. Btw buffalo wings way better than the plain wings. Plain wings were looking disgusting and was super flavorless and bit cooked all the way. I went home a put in airfryer.“

“Astonishing that it's still around. I was 10 when it opened in 1948 and to get a double decker at HH was close to heaven. Across the street was Prince Castle, long gone, where you could get a slider for much less money. HH was a splurge and it's wonderful to see it live today.“

“Really nice place for real good food. My family and I stopped in after a trip into town for an escape room. We had the foghorn chicken sandwich, burger, mashed pot and gravy, tenders, nuggets, and fries. The burger and mashed we're recommended by staff and were terrific.

“This used to be our absolute favorite spot. My friends and I would come here several times a week, and we loved the familiar faces on the staff. Sadly, things have drastically changed for the worse. ​We noticed the staff began turning over constantly, and after speaking with some of the remaining employees, we found out why: the owner is reportedly keeping 40% of the servers' tips. Under Illinois law, tips belong entirely to the staff, and an owner taking a cut is entirely illegal. ​It breaks our heart to walk away from a place we loved, but our group has decided to take our business to other local spots that actually respect and support their employees. We won't be back until management corrects this and treats their staff fairly.“

They are flavorful without being heavy, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The Greek salad is equally impressive. Crisp vegetables, generous feta, balanced dressing, and always fresh. It is simple, but done exceptionally well. When a restaurant can deliver this level of quality consistently multiple times a week, that says everything. We highly recommend it.“

“I come to the oak Lawn establishment quite often, but haven't been there in a while due to work commitments . I was in last week and as usual, I ordered with Bill at the cash register. He jokes with me as he knows what I like, but more importantly, he was genuinely concerned that I was ok because he hadn't seen me in some time. I always get 2 shack burgers, and a drink. He calls me tht best dressed man in the place as I still get dressed in a suit everyday to go into the office. Great sense of humor.“
