“gushing about my take out order - I got the fried rice with yellow curry and fried spring rolls. everyone says it feels like someone’s parents making a home cooked meal for you, and it really does. the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. the man who gave me my order was very sweet and helpful, suggesting ways to combine sauces for best flavor and making sure I got everything I asked for. he also provided me with a huge slice of fresh watermelon, specifically to cool down the “thai heat” and it was delish.“

“My daughter and her kids enthusiastically recommended we all go here for Sunday lunch. The food was very good. There was a bit of an issue trying to get food my wife could eat given she has a few food sensitivities which seemed to preclude her eating here. But once we got it figured out, we had a tasty meal. The owner waited on us personally and was somewhat helpful with the limited options on the menu for my wife. He is a friendly guy who takes great pride in his restaurant. “I found this little gem when searching for Thai food in the area. I can tell you right now that the prices are more than reasonable for the ample portions they have. If you think Bua is even remotely expensive then you should try White Crane in Naperville. That place is way overpriced for the same food. Bua is tucked away in a small strip. Not a lot of traffic. We didn’t need any reservations when we walked in after 7:40 pm. We were seated right away. The owner is very friendly and attentive. Food came out fast and fresh. We ordered Thai ice tea, beef pad si-ew, tofu pad thai, massaman curry, and mango sticky rice.

-Thai ice tea 5 - very refreshing. I like the glass it came in.
-beef pad si-ew 4 - beef was tough and chewy. Not sure if it’s because we came in closer to closing time. The sauce and noodles were good. Noodles are a little chew.
-tofu pad thai 5 - noodles are chewy and sauce isn’t bland. Good amount of tofu pieces. Colorful dish with the sufficient amount of veggies.
-beef massaman curry 4 - not spicy. Very creamy. Could use a bit more flavor. Good amount of meat but beef was overcooked. A bit chewy and tough.
-mango sticky rice 5 - big pieces of mango. Sticky rice was a little sweet. Seasonal dessert only.“

“When you come in you feel right at home, with orange hues, warming smells and decorative pieces from the culture it can make anyone excited to see what taste will enter their palette.
Every dish you can taste the love poured into it. They are accommodating to any dietary restrictions such as gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, and so on.

The crab rangoons are the best ones I’ve ever had, good cream cheese to crab ratio, I also ordered the duck noodles which had a lot of meat that was cooked really good. Very tender and juicy and flavorful. I like when good meat can just shine in its taste without any spices clashing with it too much and those noodles really hit the mark in my opinion. My husband had the mild curry and it was very, very good, if you only order one thing, order the mild curry. It was sweet and a bit spicy. Unfortunately they don’t deliver to Chicago so if you have any recommendations for Thai restaurants in Chicago please let me know!“

I felt a little bad since they closed in half an hour. I don’t understand why Asian restaurants close so early in Illinois compared to other States. We ordered chicken satay, Thai bbq chicken, green curry with beef, Thai custard.

-chicken satay 5 - the chicken was very tender and juicy. It tastes great with the peanut sauce.
-Thai bbq chicken 5 - don’t sleep on this entree. The chicken was so flavorful and succulent, you don’t really need the Thai sweet and sour sauce. The sauce does give it a more tangy taste.
-green curry with beef 5 - it is spicy but the enjoyable kind of spicy. Not the kind of spicy that is just hot and you don’t want to take another bite. It has a nice milky texture from the coconut milk. You may need to ask for more rice.
-Thai custard - 4.5 - just the right amount of sweetness, not too heavy.“

I had the Pad Kee Mao w/tofu. The dish was steaming hot and the portion huge!

I ordered it “high spice” and well, that did not happen but that’s fine. I asked for chili paste. Just that most times food cooked with spices is far better than food with spice added on top. The tofu was excellent and plentiful. I did not taste any basil. Tons of fresh vegetables.

If I lived here I would come frequently. I would only ask them to use less oil because there’s a lot of glistening oil left over on the plate. For most people who pay attention: way too oily“

“This is my fav Chinese food spot around town. Their tofu is cooked well and everything always tastes great. Service is pretty quick too. I think most people order takeout but dining in is pretty chill too. Also, their prices are pretty reasonable. A lot of food that I usually end up taking home.“

The owner, cooks and wait staff were all extremely friendly and made each of our visits a wonderful experience. We ordered Chinese and Japanese food and we also sampled some of their new delicious tacos... everything we tried was absolutely fantastic. We live 300 miles away so we ordered a lot of takeout to bring home with us to share with our friends who didn't get to make the trips. Asian Cuisine express will be a regular stop now for us every time we go to Chicago... we highly recommend everyone tries this restaurant and we can't wait until we visit there again. “I find some of the low reviews here baffling. I think some people may be confusing this restaurant with other Chinese restaurants due to its rather non descript name. Make no mistake, the food here is excellent and punches way above its price point.Coming in the first time I was pessimistic. It seemed your standard pre prepared food menu ready to dish out quickly to the lunch crowd panda express style. I quickly became a huge fan after eating large well prepared portions I would expect from a normal sit down restaurant. It's, affordable with good portions, it has that older Chinese restaurant feel to it, yet clean, and the service is good with a fast waitress who has a good memory and doesn't need a notepad. Service is fast and the food is fresh and hot served with tea. Free parking close by. Highly recommend you check it out and if you like your food a bit spicy, ask for it and it will make a huge difference.“
